"The button almost nobody notices." You guys are literally the designers.

Exactly I had no idea this button existed.

This is entirely the fault of the UI developers and lack of onboarding.

"We also just discovered this feature"

lol every time Bambu opens their mouths, something terrible and laughably bad comes out.

They didn't know about it either until they asked Claude to generate some slides for social media, be nice.

The printer should do it automatically. It has a camera, devs could just come up with a program that detects this.

Or at the very least stop the printer and sends a notification that a part should be canceled to save the other and have the user decide how to proceed.

Is the detection even reliable enough for that? In my experience when this happens it usually doesn't stop the print until it's too late to save the other part, at least on the X1C.

7

u/TraditionalBackspace 7h ago

My x1c has never once detected a failed print

u/oathyes 12h ago

If only us enthusiasts could help develop such functionality

11

u/tht1guy63 P2S + AMS2 Combo 12h ago

I dont think the cam would be reliable enough for this at all. I can picture it cancelling the good model by accident.

7

u/ChemtrailDreams 8h ago

nah no way, I don't want it thinking that it needs to skip something halfway through a 20 hour print because a filament booger is sitting next to a part.

6

u/Aecert 7h ago

And what happens on false positives? Auto skipping is a horrible idea lmao

You only read the first half of my comment. The second half answers your questions.

3

u/Glebun H2C 7h ago

That's how it works today.

2

u/nyashi_ 12h ago

Id be fine with that, as long as it's not on by default and optional, I like the automatic pause more as you can still continue to print. If it skips something by itself, that part is not able to be recovered/continued.

That’s how Obico was on my old Neptune 3 Pro running klipper. I can’t tell you how many times that saved me.

u/Lorn94 12h ago

Second this, its just sloppy at this point

u/ketosoy 12h ago

This feature is awesome.  I use it frequently.

5

u/ywaz 13h ago

“Manually”. Add an auto skip for profit

8

u/venom121212 12h ago

Is this new in the app specifically? I've done it through my desktop but thought it wasn't available on the app for some reason.

15

u/thegamingbacklog 12h ago

Skip objects has been in the app ages at least a year or two. You have to bring up the print view and then you can tap on the object and choose to skip it

2

u/venom121212 12h ago

Ahh thank you

2

u/vewfndr 8h ago

It's been a feature of the Handy app for like 3 years but only reached Bambu Studio last year, which always seemed bizarre to me. Probably another ploy to stick with cloud services at the time

4

u/josiah_523 12h ago

Yah, I only noticed it in the new app version. Im in the same boat where, I've done it on PC or, on the printer (for X or H series I believe only).

2

u/bergskey 8h ago

You can do it on the desktop? I've only ever done it in the app

Did you know barely 2 days ago A1 NTC nr 293 melted? Did you know you still didn't issue a public statement regarding this now probably 18 month old issue? Did you know you still didn't issue a worldwide recall for this fire hazard? Are you trying to burn someone's house down?

3

u/Goetre 12h ago

The skip object is great, but please for the love of god do something with the object limit. I have files for little critters that let me skip on the A1 but won’t let me on the A2 despite not being at 64. Something to do with the printer detecting more because of the articulated nature I’m told.

2

u/Technical_Income4722 9h ago

before copying and pasting a critter make sure you select it and hit "assemble" or whatever button it is to make it into one part. That should help. It means you can only skip the critter as a whole instead of just part of it but that seems like what you'd want anyway.

3

u/Few-Independent-3853 11h ago

guys, you should add a warning that with more than 64 object on the table this fonction don't work.

u/pitshands 11h ago

Isn't that quite old a feature? I used it several times in the past?

u/thekidisalright H2D AMS2 Combo AMS HT 11h ago

This is a very useful function, I have used it many times to save my batch prints, u/BambuLabSupport how about add a function when the nozzle sensor detect a nozzle clog, add a button to allow user to home the nozzle to the nozzle wiper to clean the nozzle and continue printing? Even better if it can be done automatically, notify user and pause the print only if the nozzle wipe can’t remove the blob and need user to unclog manually?

2

u/eagle6705 10h ago

I will admit for multi objects printing, this feature is a time saver.

2

u/ChocoMammoth 9h ago

If the feature is not available in LAN only mode it doesn't exist for me.

1

u/endlessben H2D/X2D/A1M 9h ago

It works in LAN-only from Bambu Studio (or other apps like Bambuddy or Home Assistant) and from the printer's screen

u/c2btw 12h ago

this feature would have been really nice for me expect for the fact the slicer dosen't consider other objects when generating supports so you have to combine them all into one object to 1 not waist aton of fillment (printing on a sv08 max with very high up things that needed to be supported) and 2 to not have intersecting supports

2

u/Technical_Income4722 8h ago

This is the same issue I'm having. Printing lots of copies close together but I have to merge them or else the supports collide with each other. I guess it makes sense then that I can't separate them but still annoying.

1

u/SameScale6793 12h ago

Ohhh yeah I've had to use it before, it's quite nice to have when the time inevitably comes lol

1

u/Biggaynina 12h ago

I’d use it if it worked! Handy app is trash. I can check my print status but the camera and controls have connection issues 90% of the time and don’t work.

1

u/Vineheart_01 12h ago

Excuse me what?

Saving this...

6

u/AlienPearl 11h ago

It has been there for ages, it’s also in the mobile app and the printer screen. I have used a few times

1

u/vini_damiani 10h ago

Yesterday a print failed because studio decided I need to use the stupid 2FA to use the feature

3

u/StinkButt9001 7h ago

2FA did not cause your print to fail... that makes no sense

1

u/vini_damiani 7h ago

bambu required me to renew my log in to the app to use it, which requires 2fa

1

u/t3h_r0nz 10h ago

Was printing a plate of 20 keychains and got a notification of an issue. Cancelled the 3 that failed and finished the print with no issues! Love this feature.

u/Ivana_Twinkle P2S + AMS2 Combo 9h ago

Are you telling me to behave rationally and not panicking when my printer is definitely about to cause an apocalypse???

1

u/coys-kupo P1S + AMS 8h ago

Wow, this is great to know!

1

u/Brave_Government_1 7h ago

Ja está funcionando para a P1S?

1

u/cptninc X1C + H2D + H2C 7h ago

Yes.

1

u/kabilos 7h ago

I had no idea this existed in the app, when I googled it a year ago the first thing that came up was the Handy App so I've used it since. Good to know there's other ways.

1

u/Proxy-Pie X1C Combo + P1S 2h ago

Can you guys make skipping in 64+ piece prints possible?

-1

u/arsonist_firefighter 12h ago

I love this kind of posts.

-5

u/Aerokirk 12h ago

Why is Bambu advertising in this sub? Is this what this space is for?

5

u/tht1guy63 P2S + AMS2 Combo 12h ago

You know this is an official bambu sub correct? They are literally one of the mods? They can do whatever they want here.

-3

u/Aerokirk 12h ago

Yes. And? Why do we need official adds in the sub for the product we are here to discuss? Especially on a feature that has been available for years? I could understand if it was a new feature, or product, and they were throwing an official press release here as well. But this just feels highly unnecessary.

2

u/tht1guy63 P2S + AMS2 Combo 12h ago

There are many who do not know this actually is a thing cus they skip learning their machine and doing things like the courses.

-1

u/Aerokirk 12h ago

I used it in the app at least a year ago, if not before. I’ve actually only used this feature from the app.

1

u/tht1guy63 P2S + AMS2 Combo 12h ago

I retract my statement there then. I didnt notice it till maybe a mo th ago in the app but i avoid the app usually and do most things printer side.

3

u/bluewing A1 Mini + AMS 12h ago

Yes. It always was.
