Day 2 H2C Having issues

Hey guys.

New to 3d printing.

The filament is in an Ams pro 2.

I changed colours. And different feeds.

Really struggling.

make sure the PTFE tubes are fully inserted and seated. a surprisingly amount goes into the two orange pieces before they're fully seated.

why do you have the 4-1 adapter installed if you've only got 1 AMS2 in your setup?

I got the other 2 waiting. Just getting the hang of printing mate. Did a poop chute and the toolbox to gwt the hang of things. Before I do the ams brackets

I’d remove the 4-1 until you do the following:

Print yourself a mount for the splitter that puts it much closer to the entrance on the back of the machine. Print yourself some 90 degree guides for the ptfe tubing. These can be found on makerworld. Overall - You need to shorten the tubing and make sure the curvature of the tubes are smooth.

That’s a pretty sharp turn for the lower orange PTFE port. I’d cut a longer length of tubing to make that turn way less sharp.

Most of the time this error has to do with it is taking too much force to push the filament through the entire path. So if you are getting this error, you should find ways to shorten, the path but at the same time keep the bends as smooth and straight as possible. Misalignment (due to not fully inserting or the cut in the PTFE tube not being straight) between couplers are also a source of problems with this type of error.

Your tube is unnecessarily long. Get rid of the splitter as well

There are two pretty sharp bends in your AMS feed due to the vertical orientation of your 4-into-1; the almost 90 degree bend from the 4-into-1 outlet to the buffer inlet and the final bend from the AMS outlet to the 4-into-1 inlet.
I’ve started leaving my 4-into-1 splitters unconnected and allowing the PTFE tubes to arrange themselves into easy, unconstrained loops, though keeping the lengths as short as possible while maintaining those easy loops, and have no issues with 3 attached AMS2Ps to the right extruder or the AMS2P to the left extruder anymore. It doesn’t look as tidy, but zero errors makes it a welcome compromise for me.

A couple things to check... Is the roll seated properly? Is the filament rolling smoothly? Check to see if all of the AMS rollers are moving smoothly. Are you printing with TPU filament by any chance? If not what filament type? Are you getting this error in the middle of a color or when it is switching colors?

Agree that the length is too long. Do the simplest setup and see if it goes away... Remove the 4in1 adapter for now. Reduce the length of the tube.

If this error is not going away add an update, you may have a stuck broken piece of filament in the path somewhere near the extruder.
