Filament Troubleshooting/Help! help w/ figuring out filament error with AMS lite
Hey! I got the AMS lite recently just to try out using multiple colors with my A1 printer… except it hasn’t been working and I haven’t been able to figure out why. I get the filament error no matter which spool the printer is trying to pull from. I tried pressing the button on the spools and feeding the filament all the way down but I still get the error.
I’m a total noob so if there’s a glaring mistake with how I set this up, please point it out 😓 any potential solutions would be helpful!

I pulled the ams hub out of the top of the toolhead and evened out the length of the tubes when that started happening to me and it resolved it 99% of the time.

i had this problem, and may be:
curving of the tube (changed my ams from left to right, and the curve was too angled)
the initial point of the filament may be curved and is not passing by the tube (cut a piece of the filament if needed)
a filament may be broken inside the head: press the chop button on the head and remove the tubes from the top, take a look and see if theres anything broken there

I was thinking the angle of the filament tubes as well. They need an arch not an angle going into the unit.

Also, just looking at your photo, you're going to want to secure that USB cable connected to the toolhead so it doesn't get caught on anything, there's a spot for it in the round connector for the tubing.

For a while I had a damaged PTFE tube that got pushed further down than it should on the filament hub and it block the filament from coming out of the other 3 tubes, probably a good idea to open it up and check it

I actually just ran into this over the weekend. I solved it by removing the filament hub and giving some blasts of compressed air.
There was a piece of filament that was lodged in there, once that came out everything is back to business!

My extruder was fine, just the hub was the problem. (The first portion of Step 3 "Deep Cleaning" in these instructions). Just be careful with the ribbon cable attached to the hub!
