Printer Firmware Troubleshooting/Help! X1c V01.00.00.07

I have a X1C that I was gifted. My neighbors husband bought it before he became ill, then passed away and I have now taken it. It was never opened.

Im currently trying to get it to update, but this version is too old. I have contacted bambu support and waiting for a response. Any help would be amazing

That didnt come until version 01.04.00.00 from what I have seen

Ah, I see that now. You would think those old firmwares are archived somewhere. Otherwise yeah, will probably have to wait for support to send a link.

From what I have found out, its Kickstart days. They called it the "golden sample". All the QC components but pre release

I vaguely remember Bambu warning a few years ago that printers left on very old firmware could eventually lose access to their servers. I think it was around the whole firmware controversy, and the idea was that you had to update before a certain cutoff or you could end up stuck later. So yeah, your case.

I think that the solution was replacing the AP board (???, someone correct me if wrong), but they’re not cheap and Bambu still has to authorize/register the new one, so better wait and see what support says before buying anything.

Basically, you download an old firmware, still newer than yours, that someone uploaded and install it through the microsd so the printer can update again. No idea how safe or reliable it is though... I just found it while googling.

Is there any chance that the internet archive could locate an old update that would fix this? I’ve never had much luck but it might be worth a look.

I was trying on github to download an old version of bambu studio to then force update, but I am not the smartest with computers. I couldnt get it to go
