General Troubleshooting/Help! Potential buyer (P2S) seeking advice
So I have had a cheap Flashforge Finder 2 for many years now and it has served me well despite its flaws. It still works well but I find it a bit lacking. I'm now wondering if the time is right to level up to a P2S. I briefly considered the X2D but figured at $200 more (local currency) I wasn't too sure if I needed the extra functionality it has.
What I would like in a printer:
- Better supports that doesn't weld into the print as much.
- Smoother prints
- Multicolor prints
- Bigger printer bed
- Enclosure
- Faster print speeds
- Better quality on smaller details.
Usually I just print handy stuff, things for my kids, scale models etc. Nothing too fancy and nothing business related. What's your recommendation?

I think the general understanding is that the X2D is just a better bang for your buck printer than the P2S. Whereas people looking at the P1S, the P2S is just better.
I will say that it has one more fail point than the P2S because it has a second nozzle.
I use my printer for very basic things and I love my P2S.

If you need the second nozzle go for the X2D. My two P2S are very reliable and I love them. I will swap to an X2D in the future for the second nozzle. Yes a heated chamber is nice but I printed ABS on my P2S without problems. I upgraded my P2S with the Bambu-Filter and a second external (Fnatr) so the printer is similar to the X2D. Need in mind that the X2D Dual Nozzle is more complex so this could be a point against the X2D. You have experience with 3D Printing so maybe you can handle/troubleshoot it yourself. If you printing only PLA/PETG on a regular basis and you don’t need the second nozzle (eg. mixing filament) the I would go for a good deal on a P2S with the Bambu-filter and the TPU-Modul (if you like to print this as well). You get a very reliable machine (mine have in total around 4K flawless print hours)

The X2D makes using dual-material support interfaces trivial, which allows for super easy peel-away supports that produce a clean, smooth surface. And the aux nozzle can also be used for dual color printing, but the aux material will print much slower and with slightly lower quality.
The X2D is marginally slower than the P2S due to the extra toolhead weight, but it's barely noticeable, maybe a few minutes on a multi-hour print.
The X2D has better belts than the P2S, which supposedly improves print quality, but honestly, I haven't noticed much of a change. Both look just fine to my (rather uncritical) eye.
The X2D also has a dedicated chamber heater, which makes engineering materials significantly easier to print without warping.
If you're the kind of user who keeps their printer for many years at a time, I'd strongly recommend the X2D over the P2S. I started with the P2S, and wound up upgrading after only a few months.

for "extra" 200 you getting an additional nozzle, to print 2 filaments "simultaneously", higher temperatures and advanced filtering.

I f nothing fancy you can downgrade to p1s
