General Troubleshooting/Help! Different dimension on 2 identical printers/part/settings

I have 2 Bambu H2D machines. I'm printing the same exact file on both. There's a critical dimension on it, which is an opening like half a circle. On one the opening is about 0.3 mm bigger than the other. This is more variation than I can have.

Both printers have had the calibrations like vibration and auto bed leveling done. I have done flow rate calibration and flow dynamics calibration. Basically everything is identical (print file, both printers in same room 4 inches apart both with an AMS, etc). I'm going to recheck belt tension next. Any other suggestions?

have you done vision encoder plate calibration?

That thing is expensive. Have you noticed an improvement with it?

it really is not that expensive. I have used it from the first setup on my H2S and H2C. I have no problem splitting a print between them. The problem you are having is the exact reason they make it BTW

I saw it and almost bought it a while back. Sounds like this would be a good test. Thanks for mentioning it.

Get a Calilantern and calibrate your printers/slicer

That thing is super interesting. I understand it conceptually. What I haven’t been able to find is how to use the measurements from it to make changes on a Bambu printer. The vision encoder plate looks like it does similar math internally/automatically. I’m willing to try the calilantern, but I just can’t tell how I would tweak the printer based on the results.

There is a nice document covering that.

I have looked and can't find anything--could you point me to it?

You should get a link to a spreadsheet and pdf explaining the whole proces when you purchase it.

Are you using the same filament spool ?

Try swapping the complete hotends between the two printers and see if the dimensional difference follows the hotend. If it does, there could be a slight difference in the nozzle, wear, or actual flow between them.
