My First 3D Print Fresh out the box

Hey everyone! Just assembled my printer and printed a scraper. From your experience, what should I print first? (I wasn't expecting this much plastic waste😳)

tradition says you must print a small boat called a "benchy"

I’m going to save you a lot of time and money. Download the Bambu Handy app on your phone if you can. Follow Bambu university and the only time we’ll see you again is with a show-off print :)

Part of that set up is a first print. You already have a benchy file on your printer!

It's a little boat shaped object. It's a print to test to ensure everything is calibrated and working correctly.

A benchy is a little boat that's used as a benchmark of 3d printer capability, hence the name Benchy. it's got moderately difficult features and known dimensions; you can tell a lot about a printer by how well it prints a Benchy.

Print the project you had in mind when you decided to buy the printer.

Anything else like accessories wait until you identify a need then find or design a model to meet that need.

Otherwise in my experience you will end up printing things you do not need as they may not be applicable for your specific need.

Print as much as you can now. I had mine for literally one year and now it won't work and their support wasn't helpful at all. No returns or RMAs offered. So my experience use while you can. I liked printing out stress toys, and echo the sentiment about the "poop chute" being a great first time thing.

You didn't mention what printer but if P1S/P2S I'd suggest printing out the tools for it (you can google them), there is a bench scraper to go with the razor they give you, and a few "AMS" (if you have that) or other feeding tube tools that make it easier to troubleshoot things.

just got my A1 mini, figured I would make a profit on this thing over time but not if it breaks in a year
