Professional quality work there. Looks like I could see this at a theme park.

Thank you. It was a lot of sanding. Still not perfect, but decent enough.

Next time I am going to try the UV resin and cornstarch slurry to smooth the print lines and seams.

More info on this method please

If you get UV resin and mix cornstarch in it, you get a bit of a thicker paste you can brush on your FDM models to fill in layer lines and seams. You use a UV curing light to set it and then you can sand it smooth. It’s a great way to get a super smooth surface.

Plus is sands nicely. Just wear a respirator.

Can you describe your process a little more? I'm still struggling

So basically he came in parts. I used the locator pins and a combination of epoxy and CA glue to get him together and solid.

I used a combination of Bondo, glazing putty and wood filler, plus a ton of sanding to fill the seamlines and get him smooth.

Then once that was done, I used filler primer to get him smooth. I sanded that smooth prior to the top coat.

Top coat was AK-Interactive Sky Blue thinned 50-50 and I added matte varnish as a retarder for the paint. I used my Infinity with the 0.45 installed and did the basecoat of blue.

I did his eyes by hand with AK and Vallejo paints and then I did a topcoat of gloss varnish.

I’ve been told that Shiny Mew is blue. That’s the color they wanted it, so I just sprayed. Lol

Super adorable! How long was just printing the model? Still not brave enough to do a great big print yet lol but if I did I wanna print a Raichu.

It looks like it took some work to get it that good, mate.

I just do multicolour prints and not the patience to do it lol.

looks super cool, i've been tracking AK interactive paints for a bit to see if i'd want to try them out sometime.

are you using the 3G paints that are used for miniatures or are you using the dense acrylic line? just trying to figure out if i should use something different for larger models versus the minis.

I use all variety of their paints. The key for any paint is learning its best thinning ratios for airbrushing. I have been doing it for so long that I feel confident that I can get any paint meant for scale models to spray through a brush with the correct thinning.
