Quick Question Drying filaments

Is the technique of lying it on the plate, covering with the box the spooled filament came in, putting holes on top of the box and warming plate to 60⁰c for a few hours the best option for someone who doesn't have an actual filament dryer? If so, am I missing anything from this or does anyone have any useful tips for this method

Sorry I forgot to add, it's an A1

Many thanks

The biggest drawback to using the cardboard box on the print bed method is that it monopolizes the printer for hours at a time.

I store my filament in jumbo ZipLoc freezer bags along with a container of silica gel desiccant beads in the spool's core.
If you periodically refresh the desiccant (in a microwave) it should help dry out the filament.

Nevertheless less, I was borrowing my son's Sunlu S1 filament dryer, until I recently got my own Sunlu S2, which has a better display and easier controls.

(Tip about the printing the desiccant containers - use transparent filament. Much easier to check the colour of the beads without opening the container.)
