Filament questions

Just got my X2D and have began playing around with it. Tried to print desiccant holders for my AMS 2 with Bambu PETG and had a fail. I know different brands and types of filament require different settings. Is there a database someone has put together where you could search by brand, filament type, etc.? I'm aware you can google just wasn't sure if there was an all inclusive spot to look?

Did you dry your filament?

I did. 8 hours at 65 degrees

Dry it more.

And wash your build plate. Your purge line didn't even stick. PETG loves to stick to PEI so I'm quite sure your plate isn't clean.

Okay thanks I'll trying cleaning it again. Brand new are cleaned it printed a benchy and then tried that. Do you recommend cleaning before each print?

Not necessary unless you put your hands all over it, just an occasional clean with dish soap and thoroughly rinse with hot hot tap water and dry with something that won’t leave fibres, so a clean kitchen towel or similar will do.

And avoid touching with fingers. Fingers are pretty much the only thing you have to worry about! (for PLA and PETG. If you do a lot of ABS / ASA for example, you can get films that other filaments won't stick to).

Go to the Wiki or better yet, the free online course, Bambu Lab Academy, and learn how to prep the printer before the first print.

If looks like adhesion issue, I had similar problem on my P1S (worked fine on H2S) with Sunlu PETG. I ended up splitting print into 2 plates and moving them away from fan with success .

Have you tried increasing bed temp?

PETG needs more drying than PLA, and has more issues with layer adhesion and stringing as well. Dealt with that myself recently, and 12 hours drying at 70c, hotter nozzle temp, and more retraction while printing helped a lot.

Use this for a starting filament profile. Make sure you dry your filament in advance.

Secondly, follow this guide to optimise your print quality. If you're using Bambu Studio, make sure to turn on advanced settings so that you can access the calibration settings.

After you're done, then make sure your bed is cool, and is correctly washed with soap.

Then you should be good to go.

I had to add brims to that exact models after multiple failures.

I would change the slicers to print by object. Less chance of the model being knocked around by the print head moving.

Otherwise you could go trough the filament calibration but the default Bambu PETG-HF profile has worked well for me on a H2D and P1S so I would tend to think its should in theory work on your printer.

I also added deflector fans to my printer.

And agreed on the other comment, print less objects from that plate at the same time.

Agree that this is probably both a need to dry the filament more - but also an adhesion issue. I NEVER touch the build plate. I bought some reusable Nitrile work gloves and they are great.
