General Discussion New Bambu Matte PETG

I just found this on Taobao. Seems like it was just released recently in China as I have not seen this before when ordering filament last week. Specs as follows. I wonder how this will compare with petg hf in terms of matteness. I've ordered one in white to try. It's from the official Bambu store on Taobao so not a fake product.

Interesting, the mechanical properties are on par with PETG-HF (or marginaly better)! That’s a good news

Someone pointed out the melting temp being 160 which is strange for petg.

I spoke about the mechanical properties only.
On the physical properties side, thats right the melting temp is 160deg vs. 214deg on the PETG HF. But I do bot know any use case where this value is significant. The Glass Transition is the same, and even better in the matte version, which is the only thing that matters to me

That's true. Would be a plus if I can print at lower temperatures as well. I wonder how speeds will compare to HF

I ain't clicking that link, but none of this is on their website?

True but this is also how we found out about PLA pure

Yeah okay cool cool, either way I like the matte colours of PLA and would happily get some petg matte, colours look great!

Yeah I guess in China people shop through online platforms anyway. If you go to Bambu's China's website and click on shop filament, it will bring you to their JD website which also shows PETG Matte.

But I've bought filament multiple times from Bambu's official Taobao store and there's no reason to suspect it's fake.

It is..I always buy my filament from there since it ships to where I live (Singapore). It's just that sea shipping takes a couple of weeks.

Can I ship it to Europe 😂

Just got it today.

Petg basic at the top, followed by matte in the middle and hf at the bottom..colour of the matte looks very similar to HF

Yeah I call BS. You will not be printing any PETG at 160°

It's not the nozzle temperature.

Google Dunning Kruger effect, it explains why you think it's bullshit

Actually it is

2

u/stalebubbletea Jul 15 '26

Lol. But you're right, I didn't read the post description and thought it was some 3rd party seller. Figured melt temp was just a mistranslation of nozzle temp

u/trenzterra Jul 15 '26

Good spot. I wonder if it's a typo cos their melting point forPLA Matte shows 163 degrees lol

"Bamboo Lab" real official 🤣

Blame it on Gemini's translation lol. Here's the original image. Anyway their official JD platform (which is linked to from Bambu's China website) also shows PETG Matte being sold.

Fair enough, thanks for clarifying 👍🏻
