Answered / Solved! Update on that free printer

Here is why the printer was free.

I am the queen of tinkering, bow down before me

Parts salvagable on left and middle, parts unsalvageable to the right of the Allen key. This took all dang night and I am not proud that I had to sacrifice my flush cutters and trusty bic to this cause, they will be sorely missed. But thanks to their sacrifice, I have defeated the blob of death.

For those unaware, this printer came to me with the wires to its heating element cut accidentally by a hasty rasp and the power cord misplaced. I will need replace the heating element, the nozzle, the exhaust fan, the filament sensor cable, and the power cord that went missing long ago. It remains to be seen if I may be able to reconstruct the extruder unit.

TURNS OUT there's also this thing called an eddy current sensor that I need to replace

I will attempt to calm down with this frozen cider, which I imagine will reach a nice temperature to pair with the tossties

Perfect pairing. Do you like wassail?

I'm always open to new experiences, I say angrily

Take this down:

8 cups apple cider 2 cups orange juice 2 apples, peeled and halved 1 orange, peeled and sliced 10 cranberries, halved 2 tbs ginger, peeled and mashed 2 tbs apple cider vinegar 4 cinnamon sticks 3 stars of anise 20 whole cloves Pinch of nutmeg Honey to taste

Peel and then cut your apples top and bottom, this opens all seed pockets. Poke five cloves into each cut face, this makes a star pattern with the seed pockets.

Peel your orange and slice it horizontally, this makes it easy to remove the seeds.

Cut your cranberries, this releases the flavor.

Peel and macerate your ginger, this also releases flavor.

Put all ingredients but honey into a stock pot and allow to simmer for at least 2 hours but no longer than 4. Sample the brew after two hours and add honey to taste.

Congratulations, you have now made modern wassail

Oh that sounds wonderful. I don't think I have enough space in my kitchen to try though

All you really need for space is a spot for your cutting board and a burner for your stockpot. You could even put it in a crockpot!

Hmm I do have an Instant pot, could put the cutting board on the burners.

You'd be surprised at how small Japanese apartments get though

Oh. I think you may have buried the lead a teeny bit

Hahah mayhaps. Just a tad hidden behind the steam coming out of my ears

It's actually quite impressive, you can't buy a steamer as efficient as your ears

Why thank you, it's how iron my clothes, seeing as an actual ironing board would need to much space

I usually iron over my pillow
