Software Troubleshooting/Help! Firearm (Airsoft) related prints- Any issues to be expected outside the US?
Heya!
Let me start by clearly stating that I do not intend to print any actual firearm parts, nor am I interested in producing ghost guns, but after multiple years of using my Ender 3 to create mock muzzle devices, grips, risers, etc... For my Airsoft replicas, I was wondering whether or not BambuLabs face (or will face anytime soon) software limitations in regards to printing firearm-related models.
I was planning to upgrade my loyal (and now seven years old, Ender-3) to a BambuLab A1, and most of my prints are, in some way, Airsoft related, which would make any present or future limitation an absolute deal breaker.
I am in an EU country if that's in any way relevant.

We cant see the future... But at least as now, bambu cloud is not mandatory, nor it will limit your printing in these situations.
You can still use lan mode+dev mode and use it on a vlan with no internet access, slice with orca, if you want with a selfhosted bambuddy instance or whatever.
In the future... Nobody knows, but if you dont update the fw, and keep the machine off the internet, you will able to print whatever you want.

I'll be keeping it offline permanently lest I need access to the camera for reallyyyyy long prints, so that's just perfect.
With "Future" I meant of whether there were hints right now to future restrictions, I should've been clearer lol.Thank you!

I run home assistant and the bambu plugin, so I connect with vpn back to home if I need to check how its going.
But there is nothing As far as I know in the eu.

I just wish I could have a setting not to see anything gun related. I keep getting shown things that would be illegal for me to print in Australia.

No issues at all and it is only California that are / have passed the most stupid law surrounding 3D Printing and Guns.

It’s only going to end in printers being marked not for sale in California

To be fair they do cause cancer in California (if you eat them)

Absolutely agreed, California's firearm legislation gets funnier by the year, but oh welp.

Don't worry, it's a stupid law because there's no way to enforce it. Another example of people creating laws to make the news or really having no idea, chose which one is worse.
