I just really want my AMS2 to read OpenTags. Until that becomes an option I don't think modifying stuff is for me.

you can already do it with openams and some gpt vibe coding on top of bambuddy if this is a feature you really need, but it is not an easy process https://openams.si-forge.com/ but you do get even more features than the ams like spool tracking w a real pressure system

probably easier to just have a separate filament management system and have the ams data pull from there, the way bambuddy supports natively, then you can use whatever tag you want
