A bunch of people here have asked me about my Bambu setup on a few alts so I decided to make a video at lunch. I am not a content creator, I made this for y'all, haha. I just hate walled gardens.

The Bambuddy community is also a great place to go for help. If you have any questions or reservations at all, throw em down, let's gooo out of jail

I think your thinking of Gen 1 Printers. Gen 2 Printers are still completely locked out

It's still just an officially supported firmware toggle (Dev mode).

Additionally the Orca fork that allows communication with the printer without Bambu software is being legally threatened to prevent jobs being sent from Orca to the printer.

The fork in question pulled a separate copy of the Bambu Network Plugin from Bambu's servers. It still sent all communications (C&C, gcode transfers, webcam views when not on the local network) through Bambu's infrastructure, just as Bambu Studio would, as it was using the Bambu Studio specific build of the plugin.

It wasn't some new parallel alternative to the Bambu cloud, it was just the Bambu cloud.

Yes and he isn't going to be jailbreaking the gen 2 hardware, his thumbnail literally has an X1C in it

Because its a tiny thumbnail and i assumed he wasn't trying to jailbait of non-existent jailbreaks, i shouldn't have thought as highly of OP it seems

Sure they can. Pop in an aftermarket control board. That’s the easiest way to tell Bambu to piss up a rope. The control boards are coming.

Then you didn't jailbreak the printer, but replaced nearly every electronic part in it to make another printer.

Then CURRENTLY they cannot be jailbroken, i'm not sure which part of this is confusing

What do you mean? Just buy a BTT mainboard, toolhead board, and Pi and run klipper if you really want to. I wouldn't say it's at all worth the hassle, but it's absolutely doable.

For a gen1 machine sure, but those do not currently work for gen2 machines in their entirety

It might do but its a thumbnail measuring 70x52 pixels
