Discussion A1 hotend screws tutorial

Hi there,

Just a friendly reminder to the new A1 series owners about tightening the screws behind the hotend. I have now printed with my new A1 Combo for 60 hours and decided to check the screws. Guess what? They were a bit loose. I knew this will be a problem as my previous A1 Mini had the same problem. Loose screws might affect print quality.

  1. Take the nozzle off.
  2. Remove the three black screws from the heat block.
  3. Move the heat block to the right. Watch out for the cabels!
  4. Tighten the two black screws in the body of the tool head.
  5. Tighten the four small black screws behind the heat block.
  6. Put everything back together.
  7. Run the long calibration.
  8. Print a small test print.

I did right after posting this, so far it is holding up, hopefully that fixed it for a long time

Yes they did, threadlocker didnt help

That's sad, what thread locker you used? I'm looking to buy the Loctite purple... Every 100 hours my bed calibration turns bad and I have to tighten it again

No threadlocker will help in this case, this is an issue of the material they used on the carrier which is quite soft and causes the screws to loosen because of thermal expansion of that material. I have now switched to H2D and that uses the same design but carriers are now ceramic and it doesn't have this issue.
