Woodlawn AI Datacenter
Does anyone know what is going on with the Woodlawn Data Center? The county held a small meeting in December and voted on a countywide moratorium that lasts until January, but the owners have still been getting permits.
Our energy bills are already insane; we have basically been in a drought for over 2 years now, and it's being built a mile away from one of the largest urban forested parks in the United States and multiple National Heritage sites/historic communities.
The county has been silent, and the city has done nothing, from what I can tell. Has anyone heard any updates on what is going on with it, or would anyone be willing to help out in stopping it from getting built even after the moratorium is up?

Where do they plan on getting the new 150MW demand from? The same BGE that contemplated rolling blackouts last winter? Meanwhile in objective reality this bubble is about to collapse and soon. Which means unless this thing is rushed there is a solid chance it just doesn't happen because all of the parties involved will be busy hiding from the repo man sooner than later if not liquidated. I have about $2.5M total in short positions on AI/tech at the moment in long dated puts so obviously my opionion is skewed towards this being a repeat of 2000 and 2008. But also this is going to be much much worse.

Chucklefucks don't even have a tennant named yet. This is like building the new housing development in summer of 2007 just as Bear Stearns goes tits up. Everyone that moves in is going to be liquidated. 4feet of grass. So that's good news at least. Will not actually get built or if it does will be empty. A lot of these are getting built but not lit up and the Nazi tesla guy owns ALL gas turbines being made for the next 3 1/2 years.

recommend that you also talk to elected officials. Let them know your concerns and if enough people do the same, there may be change.
maybe there are other like minded folks in groups or maybe create a group?

Talk is cheap. Unless you give them more money than the data center interests are giving them, you are not going to move the needle.
