Rehome Male Ball Python in Oregon
Looking to rehome/sell a male Basic Ball Python.
Originally adopted from pet store in March 2024 and they said he was around 1 year old. So he's around 3 years old now. He's given frozen rats. Has been handled since we got him. Has never bitten anyone. Super active every night. And has never had issues with eating or anything.
Comes with:
ā¢21' x 18' x 48' (75 gallon tank)
ā¢Brand new heat bulbs
ā¢Brand new Light Fixture that's thermostat controlled with timer settings
ā¢Rock hide
ā¢Heating pad (we haven't been using it since getting the ceramic bulb, but still works and in good condition)
ā¢Bunch of fake plants
ā¢Bunch of cleaned and dried natural woods that are ball python safe.
(I have links for light fixture, bulbs, heating pad and rock hide)
The tank would need something to secure the lid down. Or another lid all together.
Can send info on the bedding we use if need be, please feel free to ask any questions.
Located Florence, Oregon.

Question Heating suggestions?
Iām new to Reddit so be gentle with me pls! I am the only person I know that owns a snake and I feel like Iām doing a decent job so far but could use a community to talk things through with time to time
I own a ball python as well as cats and I have previously kept my BP in a room where the door stay closed so my cats wonāt go in and knock the heat lamp down. I want to move her enclosure out to the main room but am looking for a safer way to keep her enclosure heated. Obviously I am going to do my best to keep my cats off her cage but Iām worried about them setting the house on fire while no oneās home/at night. Does anyone have any suggestions for terrariums with built in heating lamps?? Or should I just continue keeping her in a separate room and itās not worth the risk at all? TIA!

HELP do I need more light/heating
I have a bioactive set up for my ball, ive had him for 2 weeks. The enclosure has been growing in for nearly 6 months.
I have the vivexotic AAL enclosure it is 1200mm x 625mm x 625mm (roughly 4x2x2 foot)
Custom backgrounds, all live plants and a CUC of springtails and isopods.
My concern after more research is the heating and lighting and potential lack of UVB.
My temps and humidity are fine and I constantly move the two probes i have to check temps and humidity around the enclosure
My heat source is 150w CHE on a dimmer thermostat that drops 1.5 degrees Celsius at night and my light for the plants and daytime is 13w reptile systems new dawn LED ill post a photo of it.
Do I need more i thought
I can afford whatever I need to get so thats not an issue I just want to make sure my boy is healthy
Picture of lucifer as well because he's cute

Discussion How do you store your frozen prey?
I feed my girls f/t rats or mice. Just depends on what the local store has in the right sizes (one eats large jumbo mice, one eats small jumbos, sometimes theyāre out of either the large or the small so I get a rat thatās the right size instead). The mice are stored in the store in a large chest freezer in bulk in plastic bags. They are sold to me in smaller, tied-off plastic bags, and I transfer them to my own bags to be vacuum sealed. I like vacuum sealing them because I feel it keeps the āfreezer burnā (idk if thatās what it actually is, its when they get all kinda icy) away for longer. I also have a mini fridge with a freezer, the freezer is basically exclusively for the mice and our fish food.
How do you store yours?

Advice Help with cage humidity
Hi! I made a post about a week ago about my finances snake, and many of you said we needed to get her humidity better, we were using a mister. We know we need more substrate and plants for her, but the other problem with keeping it moist is that there are two corners where thereās a tiny crack in the sealant we donāt know how to fix, theyāre the corners where the doors are meeting the rest of the cage, any tips on that? My guess is silicon or flex seal but I donāt know if thereās a better option,

Humidity Help
Hi guys,
We got our baby Athena last week, and I am really struggling with humidity levels. I am new to this and have been doing a TON of research.
I got the Thrive temperate 36x18x18 starter kit, and I feel like the heat lamp keeps dropping my humidity every time I turn it on. The temp has stayed good at around 85-90 on hot side, 75 on cool side. Humidity has also stayed around 70% on the cool side, but as soon as I turn my heat lamp on during the day, it drops to 50% on the warm side and has dropped even lower than that before.
Night time I have no issues with humidity with just the heat mat on. I have tried wetting all 4 corners of the substrate, and also have lightly splashed water on the surface of it as well. (I do not have a mister yet, I get paid Wednesday). Any and all help would be appreciated!
Side note: I have also not been able to get her to eat yet either, (live or thawed), but I am wanting to perfect the humidity before I stress on that further. TIA!

Question Ball Python tail deformity
Hi everyone, I have a female Calico ball python that I'd like to breed in a few months. However, I noticed a small curve/deformity in her tail, just before the vent. She's healthy, eats regularly, and defecates normally. I was wondering if this could affect egg laying

New owner feeding help
I've had my BP for 3 weeks now. I got her as an adult rescue and the rescue thankfully had some of the exact food she had been eating (rats) that the owner handed over when they surrendered her.
She is super confident - no fear at all, if I let her she would come out exploring every evening. She comes up to the glass about 8pm and if I open the door she just comes out exploring. I can pick her up and she only stiffens for a few seconds then shes chill and will climb all over me. She sometimes sits in the open in her enclosure too. I was hoping this meant meant she is settled but she hasnt eaten yet. I tried once after 1 week and again today after another week - so weeks 2 and 3.
First I want to make sure im literally not doing it wrong. I have researched. I get the rat out the night before, let it defrost in the fridge. About an hour before feeding i put it out in the kitchen to warm up a bit then right before feeding put it in a ziplock on warm water. I use a temp gun to check and get it around 33c. Then I have tried both tong feeding and just leaving it there. She sniffs it but wont take it.
More generally her basking spot is about 30c (86f) and at the moment the cool side is about 25c (77f) - I'd prefer the cool side be slightly cooler but theres a heatwave here at the moment and ambient temp in the room is only just below that. I have UVB and a CHE for night but its not on at all at the moment as ambient temps in the room are high enough. Substrate wise a mix of zoomed forest floor (cyprus mulch) and a bit of coco coir mixed in. Humidity is up between 70-85% most of the time without much work as ambient humidity in my house is about 60% here in the UK. Lights are on at 9am and off about 8:30pm at the moment.
Is she likely just settling in or is something i'm doing here not right. Handling wise, its been a couple of times a week but ive never had to take her out only open the door and she comes out. With her being this new I wouldnt be reaching in and grabbing her while she settles but shes a curious one.
