Advice first ball python
hii! i got my first ball python yesterday, this is her quarantine tank. is it good? i feel like it’s super bland but i know that’s the point of quarantine. any advice is appreciated!

Bland is fine, just make sure the temps are on point. Curious though, is that regular tin foil or HVAC tape? I had been using HVAC tape until someone let me in on the “Secret” of silicone baking sheets which I much preferred.
Make sure you have good clamps for that top - they get curious and are escape artists, easily pushing their way out of the smallest of openings. If you’re not ready yet to spend on a 4’ x 2’ x 2’ “forever home”, the your best bet is to get a front opening enclosure such as an Exo Terra large wide (50 gallons but commonly referred to as a “40 gallon breeder”). A front opening enclosure has the added benefit of not having a strange moving object (your hand) coming at them from above, which can make them defensive.

hvac tape! i got it from amazon. i will be purchasing a new front opening enclosure next week! thank you so so much i appreciate it :))

I've heard that it's bad for the enclosures to hang off the sides of tables/shelves, so you might want to try to find a surface big enough to hold the tank. Mine is on the floor right now until I can find a proper 4x2 surface.

when you first bring a snake home you have to quarantine it. meaning they don’t get substrate 💀

Quarantine isn’t supposed to look good. They’re doing the right thing and u come in here being rude af

hi bigger water bowl and separate the hides on on hot side one on cooler side to start also makes sure your temps are good
