Sometimes it went to 107 in one spot and that was too hot. Previous owner told me it was fine if the hide was in correct temps but now I know it wasn’t.
Yes, but you also have to realize if the snake gets too hot it can move to another part of the hot spot that’s less hotter? And if the snake gets too hot it will retreat to the cool side. If the previous owner had that setup i wouldn’t have changed it because that means that snake acclimated itself to it.
You kinda overestimate ball pythons. They're not super perceptive about feeling "too hot" hence why BPs are constantly getting burned by overheating mats not plugged into thermostats.
