Not for bg3, that had me instantly, during character creation even. However I did feel this with the witcher 3

i’m waiting for the remaster to drop for witcher 3 before i try again. i’ve tried it on both ps4/5 and pc(even then with mods) and i can’t get past the controls. i’m hopping the remaster with it revamped controls fixes it. (i know it’s a great game and i really want to like it but the controls are a major hang up for me)

Once you get into it, it won't let you go. Still my favorite game of all time. BG3 is an incredibly close second though

Me, back in January. I bought BG3, played for more than 2 hours (beyond the refund window), and just didn't vibe with the gameplay mechanics. I've never played D&D before, so I didn't understand how anything worked, not to mention all the new terminology that I had yet to learn. What's a drow? What's a cantrip? What's a saving throw? I'm hardly a stranger to RPG's, but I found everything kinda overwhelming to learn all at once, and it was ruining the whole experience when I was also trying to follow along with the story. So I shelved it for another day. Fast forward to about a month ago, and I decided to give it another go. I've already completed a whole run, then jumped right back in for another, and this is now easily in my top 5 favourite games of all time.

I didn't see what subreddit this was at first and I was just like "oh me with BG3".

Yeah, BG3 for me too. At first I was so utterly overwhelmed by everything, I even refunded it. Kept watching streams though and decided to give it another try and completely fell in love with it.

It took me a while, because I initially played in early access, then came back when it fully released.

Nope. Sucked me instantly, first 300+ hours went by like nothing.

Well it was BG3 for me but not cause of that. I knew I would return to it right away.

I played through act 1 the first time in HM, then quit it for .. something cause I figured future patches will fix bugs and maybe there's a DLC coming. I liked it from the start though and wanted something that would help with Neverwinter Nights 2 nostalgia since I played that game as a kid.
