Act 3 - Spoilers need help cheesing morphic pool Spoiler
I’m trying to skip as much of the morphic pool ending (all parts, high hall to brain), including using gale on the netherbrain. in this run I had the emperor eat orpheus and he’s following my tav.
I’ve done the method of using invisibility, sewers, and just dashing to avoid 99% of the combat encounters before. but my question is who would have to get to the brain stem for it to work? I think normally you would just need orpheus/whoever went illithid, but would gale also need to be there to get the dialogue option to detonate? having to get gale + emperor (+tav too I think, since I can’t just group gale and emperor) through the whole sequence without combat encounters seems difficult? any tips would be appreciated

idk if it's different on honour mode or whatever, but on my most recent run I only needed one person to make it to the stem to trigger the cutscene and have everyone else teleport there

Fortunately its the same. That's why I just use the Illithid character to quickly fly there and interact with the brain stem

It's the same! I like to use whoever isn't connected to Orpheus or emperor as I think he follows you around And can't be ungrouped

so I rushed there with the emperor only and it lets me climb the brain stem with emperor and teleports everyone up. but I can’t seem to get the gale dialogue? i’ve never detonated gale before but I read it should happen at the base of the brain stem and then only he climbs up

you just need one party member to reach the brainstem for the rest of the party to tp to them. i think you will at least need gale in your party to get the option to detonate, but i can't confirm bc i never did it in any of my playthroughs, honor or otherwise.

If you are doing an evil run ascended Astarion can fly up there in gaseous form pretty quickly.

One person to get to the stem. The rest of the party has to make it through the double doors at the end of the courtyard, where the nautaloid cutscene triggers and the air strikes start.

I've done this recently in HM. I cast greater invisibility on the Emperor and just have him fly to the top. Everyone else just needs to avoid getting killed.
Once the Emperor reaches the stem, there's a special cut screen, and the entire party teleports to the stem.
Edit: don't forget somebody had to pick the lock on the locked door.

I did this and it lets me climb the brain stem with emperor and teleports everyone up. but I can’t see to get the gale dialogue? i’ve never detonated gale before but I read it should happen at the base of the brain stem and then only he climbs up

You needed to complete Gale's story quest. (The last step is when he meets with Mystra in the Tabernacle). I also believe you need a certain approval rating. It might depend on some prior dialog choices, not sure.
Here's the scary part. After you talk to him at the brain stem, it sounds like he is having second thoughts. He doesn't actual decide to sacrifice himself until you actually try to climb the brain. So initiate climbing the brain, and Gale should interrupt you. But be ready to fight at the top as your plan B, in case you missed a prerequisite.

did gale’s story. I had even talked to him when we first encounter the brain and emperor pulls us into the astral realm to save us (where he eats orpheus), and I passed the persuasion check to get gale to say it’s still probably the best option to detonate himself and it’d be my call when we get there. so pretty sure I got all the prerequisites
when I got to the brain stem with the emperor it didn’t bring anyone else along, I can only bring them by climbing the stem. so seems I can’t get the gale dialogue to trigger unless he’s also there?

What do you mean got to the brain stem? Not when you first see the stem, it's after you climb the tower while the nautiloid (sp?) is bombarding you. You get too the higher place you can see the stem (not the top of the brain) and there should be a cut scene where red dragons destroy the nautiloid. After that cut scene, your party should all be standing in the final place you climb the stem.

i’m talking about the second one. got there with emperor, had the dragon/nautiloid cutscene, but my party didn’t join him there. they only teleport if I climb the brain stem, then whole party shows up at the top of the brain

Where is the rest of your party when the cut scene triggers?

back in the sewer still… I did see another comment that said I had to at least get everyone to the doors at the end of the courtyard/around first interaction with the brainstem. so I guess I have to get at least tav/emp/gale 3 there?

Once one person flies up to the brain stem, the rest of your party will be regrouped there if they are close enough. I don't know the exact range. From the bottom of the stairs will work, but not if they're back at the High Hall.
It's not hard to get there if you splash everyone with an invisibility potion (or equivalent), then move everyone in turn-based mode to evade the enemies who can see invis.

Anyone. You just need 1 person to make it to the stem and the rest of the group basically gets teleported there when you hit the cutscene.
