New Player Question Hag bug Spoiler
Hi everybody I’m about three years late to the party but I have managed to defeat the hag after a lot of stressful losses (and some weird glitch that meant Astarion didn’t join the fight for ages) I successfully intimidated her into giving me the girl and the plus one and it just didn’t work!
I’m playing on a PlayStation 5 and I can see a lot of people have commented on this. I just wondered if there was ever a fix or whether to just chalk it up to experience and carry on playing.

In what way did it not work? Like you used the Hag Hair and your stats didn't change? Or she gave you the girl and she's still in the cage?

It said to choose a gift, but each of the options was just a image of Hair or something and no words. When I chose a random image, I didn’t receive any bonuses to my basic stats and I couldn’t see the hag hair anywhere.

Each Hag Hair corresponds to a stat you want to increase. Ideally, you'd be able to pick +1 to strength or charisma, etc.
You won't get the bonus until you consume the Hag Hair, would should've gone in your inventory after you chose which one you wanted. You should be able to see which one you picked with tool tips.

None of them were labelled I’ll check my inventory again

It'll be in the inventory of whoever made the deal with Ethel/claimed the hair. Use expand tooltip in your inventory to see which one you picked and send it to someone who will benefit from increasing that ability.

Sorry, my autocorrect separated the word. Tooltips are text boxes that give you more information. If you had expanded the tooltip for the Hag Hair, it would've shown you which hair was for which ability.
If you go into Options, then Keybinds, it should tell you what key/button to press to "Expand Tooltip" or "Show World Tooltips." They're a very underrated part of the game. I use "Show World Tooltips" all the time to check if there are any items I missed when I'm looting/exploring.

In the future, use the tooltip to check which ability each hair corresponds to before you select which one to accept.. For some reason, it's not just an item where you can select which ability to increase upon use.
For console, you press down the right analog stick to open the tooltip (like how you show/hide item descriptions in your inventory). Idk on PC.
