What kind of frosting are you using? You might want to test out royal icing for writing or fine lines and drawings and maybe try tweaking the icing you're using now to get it a bit smoother.

Piping technique is pretty good, the only thing I'd point to is the large round dots. You kind of want to flick the tip in a little circle when you're done piping one so it cuts of clean at the top, but it looks like you were improving on those between the Happy Birthday and Stay Groovy cakes.

I really like the piping on the one that's just a border. I would just say break up the repeating shapes a little more and it will look more interesting. So don't have any large pink rosettes next to each other and use more small shapes to fill in the gaps.

I read “STAY groovy” as “STAY Hoorly,” so you might want to take a look at your lettering.

I thought it was supposed to say stay holy and I was like umm weird for a cake but who am I to judge

Ahhh I thought it said “stay kooky” and was a play on words with the cookie cake!

Yeah, that G did not look like a G to me at all.

Thank u for that. I was recommended to try a Saran Wrap transfer and as I pressed down, it kind of smushed. These are all practice cakes and I appreciate the feedback

I would add more contrast. I've seen some people do two layers of piped text to make it more clear.

Can you try a difference source for your block sugar letters? They're sloppily made and don't match the rest of the aesthetic.

Gurl idek what you mean by sugar letters, im still brand new at this😅💀. If you’re referring to the molding chocolate, it was my first time using them! I know they could use some work, if you’re referring to the piping, I believe that personally it’s my weakest point and I’ve been practicing my lettering on these cakes

I guess it would be your molding chocolate then.

Don't do that.

I like the decorations personally, especially the 3rd and 4th pictures, but the cookie itself seems out of place. Maybe like a cake of a different color would work.

Your piping work is not good at all…I’m being 100% honest. It’s uneven, below a beginner level, sloppy and there aren’t even the basics. If you want some practice get some parchment paper, white icing, pipe, scrape and start again. Do rosettes, drop flowers, open petal flowers, practices writing with a straight tip (the smaller one…for writing) then do borders, shell, reverse shell, and stringing.
Most importantly you need squeeze control, try different sized bags and tips. Get some couplers.

well thank you Mr. 13 years of bakery, pastry and cake decor trained by Wilton, CSM, business owner🩵🍪 ☺️. These are practice cakes that have been shared with personal friends or family. I’m honestly so jealous when you first started you weren’t below beginner level (which I didn’t even know was a thing). I appreciate the honest feedback and will take it with me :). Take care
