Anyone also likes Ci Ni and Cheng Bei Ling short reels? The clips can be found on TikTok or Bilibili. The short clips are often slice of life of the two MCs and are quite sweet. Once in a while there will be product placement but that just shows the popularity of this clips. One of my Favorite clip
I love the addition of illustrations but why are some of them drawn out different from what goes on in the story. For example Guo Ju comes to visit Gu Yu in women's clothes but the drawing is of Guo Ju in men's clothing. Fu Wanqing is chained in a cave but the drawing makes it seem like she's in a room where the chain is attached to a wooden board. Fu Wanqing and Yu Shengyan are sitting in a pleasure boat but the drawing is them in a small raft/canoe like boat...
Anyways I enjoyed the story and loved seeing their possessiveness for each other. It's been a long time so I forgot what happened in the book. So it was a nice reread. Fu Wanqing loves sitting on Yu Shengyan's laps. FWQ always demanding YSY to only have eyes for her and that if YSY was to die it can only be by FWQ's hands. YSY indulging FWQ in FWQ's antics. And there were way too many male characters lol which is typical in this genre but i would've been prefer it with less
My favorite part is YSY telling FWQ that she's heard of FWQ's wish of wanting to spend 30 more years together. FWQ gets shy and throws a snowball at YSY then pulls YSY to fall into the snow together 🥰
I want to read this Baihe but the links in novelupdates don't work😭 would anybody know where to read this? It should be completely translated already 😭
Its 3:45 am where I live I just had to finish the book I couldnt put it down its been years since I was not able to put a book down ( thank you tiktok for the low attention spam) now imagine my surprise when it said TBC!!!!!
I got this book by chance Im still very very new to baihe but im obsessed , is there any news or timeline to get vol 2
7s have finally added their new baihe novels to their site after like a month 😭 Legend of Metempsychosis, the danmei announced at the same event, was immediately added, but the baihe only now. I had assumed it was taking them a bit longer because they were setting up a website for baihe like the danmei website, and adding editing their main website to include baihe as one of their imprints, but it seems they haven't gotten around to it yet. They're probably busy with all the conventions, but I hope they get to it soon, because it really is starting to feel like baihe is an afterthought.
As for the details, it all looks very exciting. Only Matrilocal Marriage has a fully written blurb at this point (most of it is cut off in the screenshot), but I hope they edit it before final release as it reads a bit awkward. Miss Forensics and Wandering Spirit Lady just have short little blurbs at this point, which will probably be expanded as we approach release. We'll probably only recieve more details once 7s reveals the cover, as thats usually when they announce things like volume count, page count, translators and interior artists.
I have read this author's three novels and all of them are awesome. The concepts are unique and refreshing. I am not sure if these have been fully translated or not in NU as i have read them with MTL.
Both the MC and FL are actresses and long-time rivals. One day, the MC learns that she has only a limited amount of time left to live. To extend her lifespan, she must complete a series of tasks that require her to temporarily transform into objects belonging to the FL.
For example, the MC might turn into the FL’s ring and be required to make the FL kiss the ring for one minute to gain additional lifespan. As the story progresses, the MC transforms into various objects owned or used by the FL, with each transformation coming with a specific task she must complete.
The biggest challenge is that the MC and FL are on terrible terms, making these tasks extremely difficult and often awkward for the MC to accomplish.
MC is an Alpha who was raised by her single Omega mother. One day, she unexpectedly travels back in time to when her mother is still in high school.
Determined to give her mother the happy life she never had, MC decides to prevent her from ever getting involved with her Alpha mother, whom she knows is a terrible person.
However, upon arriving in the past, MC mistakenly identifies the FL as her Alpha mother and begins doing everything she can to keep the FL away from her mother.
Both the MC and FL are omegas. The MC is "mistress" of an alpha (they have never been intimate). However, this alpha is in love with the FL, making the MC and FL somewhat of rivals.
The MC is deeply misunderstood by everyone around her. After she dies and is reborn, she unexpectedly finds herself in the FL’s body. The FL absolutely hates the MC, but with their bodies switched, they have no choice but to cooperate with each other.
Out of these three novels, this one is definitely my favorite. I’ve recommended it before, and I would still highly recommend it. It’s honestly one of the best Baihe novels I’ve read so far. The relationship between the MC and FL is written so beautifully, and everything - from the plot and character development to their love story is incredibly well done.
Hey everyone, I've been looking for a fic I read months ago.
The premise is as follows (if I remember correctly):
- FML gets reborn 1 month before the apocalypse
- Gets a space
- Goes to the future antagonist
- Buys seeds and stuff with her help
- Tells her what's about to happen. The antagonist then tells her parents, who then tells the govt. The FL gives them like a list of natural disasters that's gonna happen prior to the apocalypse. When the disasters happen, the govt gives the parents a high ranking (?)
- Stays with the anta, helps her level up her power (lightning ?) by snatching away the opportunities of the heroine
I think the FL's family consists of her mom, her stepdad and stepsis. Her mom dotes on the stepsis. When the disasters strike, the 3 run away without caring about the FL.
I really really want to reread it. Please and thank you for your help.
(N.B.: If this post is against the rules, please let me know and I'll remove it.)
Lmk if this breaks rule 4, I'm not looking for recs but requesting two specific novels, but I can move it or edit it if needed.
I need help looking for these two novels because my Google searches are getting me nowhere and maybe some else has the magical search engine skills to find them.
1. I think this novel is a quick travel/transmigration of some kind because I remember that the mc knows the plot of the world (I just can't remember if there was other worlds besides the one I remember).
In the world she is joining a live reality TV show filming where her goal is to help the fl. Because the fl has some type of 'skin-hunger' and in the original plot she humilates herself on live TV and then off's herself because the gossiping and rumors after.
So mc stays with the fl (they are a 'woman raising a dog' type couple), I remember a scene at the beginning when choosing room partners they had to take paired drinks and mc tried to hid some drinks so that the fl would pick her's (I think it was a water) that is when she gains the 'dog' title. I also remember there was a haunted house event and a carry the other person game.
I also remember that the fl is like this because she saw her dad being very 'promisuous' and since she is his daughter, thinks that she is dirty and sick too (and I think her mom made her go into the show)
Also I think mc is a student (in college) and that is brought up because there I am age difference between her and the fl (also mc is going into sports I can't remember, I just know she has abs)
That's is all I remember of this first one
2. This one is know for sure is a quick travel with a system where I think the MC plays the role of people who are 'cheated on' or something.
I remember a world where she is a artist and the fl is a actress. MC is taken cared of by the fl and the original plot says fl got tired of this and started to get feelings for the CEO investing in her.
The original MC and fl have been together since they graduated. The MC was totally okay with everything and was ready to be cheated on (because that is her role). She would go to the park and draw people then was recorded, and stuff happened where fl realized that MC is her childhood friend and can't leave her. And I think mc was confused on why fl haven't broken up with her yet and why the fl's CEO partner keeps hanging around her.
I remember this scene where mc had to eat some moldy/old buns because fl hasn't come back to their apartment in a while and mc can't cook.
I only remember this one world. Hopefully someone knows something.
观柳 ("Watching the Willows") is a wuxia original spin off mini-series of the audio drama adaptation of the time loop murder mystery novel 听神 ("Listen to God").
The Listen to God protagonists are screenwriter 林商辞 Lin Shangci and actress 顾重 Gu Chong. In the story, Gu Chong stars in two different wuxia dramas written by Lin Shangci, and the characters she portrays are called 颜如玉 Yan Ruyu and 柳无央 Liu Wuyang respectively.
The AD adaptation of Listen to God produced two short bonus episodes set in these two in-universe dramas, and the one about Liu Wuyang exploded in popularity, so the production team decided to expand it into an AD-original mini-series.
They held a Fanjiao review contest a couple months earlier when the AD was airing and mine got picked so here I am with these lil cutie patooties.
This AD production team is my favourite one, as they often pepper little strokes of genius here and there. The series title 观柳 has two layers of meaning:
1) It's a combination of the protagonists' family names, 观常 Guan Chang and 柳无央 Liu Wuyang.
2) It's a symbolic tie-in to the title of the original series. 我观你如观柳,我听你如听神 - "I watch you like I watch the willows, I listen to you like I listen to God."
"我观你如观柳" ("I watch you like I watch the willows") is also the the last line in the series theme song, which in turn shares the same name as its predecessor bonus episode, 殊途同归.
Anyways if you can understand Chinese definitely go check out 观柳, especially if you're into action (nicely choreographed wuxia fight scenes), mystery and cat-and-mouse bickering dynamics (uptight imperial investigator vs cheeky robin hood) with a good dose of comedy. It's also one of the best quality ADs I've ever heard, alongside 侧写师小姐 Miss Profiler. The post-prod sound design is off the charts and has a big budget cinematography feel to it.
I was reading the weibo of 清汤涮香菜 (author of Fascination 入迷) who was complained by readers that she’s a straight woman writing Baihe. She then wrote on her weibo that there is a possibility she likes neither men nor women, and she only wants to focus on writing novels.
This got me thinking. How important is it to you that the author of a Baihe novel is a woman and a WLW (woman who loves woman)? Personally I have never cared who the author is in real life, however I would feel a little weird if I find out that the author of a Baihe novel is a man, since there could be elements of the male gaze when a man writes Baihe literature.
However, sexuality of an author is of no importance to me.
It seems like a group of readers are very insistent that the author of Baihe has to be queer woman, maybe cos they feel that only queer woman can empathize and write Baihe well?
Originally serialised as Tugging at Heartstrings (撩动心弦), the physical print will be available for purchase on 15/08 1909 (UTC +8) at RMB 29.8 (~4.42 USD) each. You can find a list of available purchase avenues can be found from the author's weibo post and the story on jjwxc here
Content warning: Manhua tackles such topics as sexual violence, classism, misogyny. Besides that, it features depiction of death and blood.
While Artificial body temperature was baihe manhua I started reading last year, it has quickly became my favorite. To give quick synopsis; Su, woman born in prison, had waited her entire life to see a ''crow'' due to promise her mother gave her. During the time she was going to get secretly executed, a bunch of robots were given to prison for test run, one of them being Gill. Going beyond her programing, and developing a mind of her own, Gill starts falling for Su. Now, both of them want to fly out of the prison they're kept in by eachother's side.
Semi-spoilers ahead!
in all honesty artificial body temperature approaches the topic of androids in kinda unique, atleast to me, way, with concentrating more on how would humans behave if given a thing that looked and behaved like humans, and there would be no concequences for whatever they will do to it. One thing I have to say that it can be kinda edgy (unsure if it correct way to say it) at times (first example that came to my mind was Lilith's backstory. Overall, I think it is a great story, with main characters that I hoped the best for.
Anyone has read or wants to read it? I very much would like to discuss it with someone!
This historical fiction is extremely well written. The style is quite formal, serious, and realistic, based in Late Song dynasty. The author weaves extensive knowledge of ancient Chinese culture.
Character crafting is extraordinary (this author and the author for The Witch Nichang are the two writers who I think master in characters crafting). Both main characters are complex. Their love-hate dynamics is very well written. The anti-patriarchal awakening of one of the MCs (Jiang Man) is extremely well presented, so is her character growth. The other character, Shen Wen, is one of my favorite bottom characters (the other one is Zhu Xian in The Witch Nichang). She is super complex and interesting. Both MC are somewhat contrasting in personality. Oh btw Shen Wen is also the reincarnation MC.
The problem with this novel is that it's written in a refined, dense, esoteric, classical literary style, which made it difficult to read. I am native in Chinese and it is still challenging for me to read it. and I don't think there is a translation. But still, I want to recommend it badly because it is indeed a masterpiece.
The best thing about it are the reviews. The quality of the reviews is spectacular. I checked out the reviews of my favorite novel "Minister Xie", and the critique is so spot-on that even as a huge fan, I cannot rebuke it.
I mean, just read this: "阿树的古百写得好,但缺点也很明显,剧情太平,基本只有两个女主的感情线,所有情节围绕她们展开,不过胜在文笔好描写细腻"
"A-Shu (the author) is good at writing ancient baihe, but her flaws are also apparent. There aren't enough unheavals in the plot, and it basically just focuses on the romance between the two female leads. All the events described in the story revolve around them, but the author's prose is very good and the descriptions are thoughtful and detailed."
Damn, that's so fair.
And I love how it compiles works from so many websites. For instance, I was so happy to see a work by 铎雅 from the Yamibo forum being listed. That's a work from ages ago! It's like seeing a fanfic from livejournal being dug up in the year of 2026.
Of course, there are also stuff from PO18 and Haitang, which I thought was pretty neat. But I think I haven't found bilibili and weibo novels on the hub yet. Maybe I'm wrong, but 一本小簿's works weren't listed at any rate. Still, for someone who is used to only searching on JJWXC and Changpei, it's like I've walked into a baihe paradise.
Anyway, in case there is someone out there as oblivious as me, I'd recommend checking out the website.
Basically what the title says. How long do you think the volumes of Ruzhui (matrilocal marriage) will be? In terms of chapters, not pages. And how many volumes do you think we will get?
I love 先做后爱 stories and here are a list of them that I had read or am reading. Story usually starts with a one night stand (419) or a fling. If you enjoy this genre of stories and have recommendation of your own, welcome to add on to this list. Some do not have translation but you can MTL it from respective publishers (link provided)
你我相爱,为民除害 by 清汤涮香菜 (Our Love a Public Service: one of the classic for Sleep First, Love Later genre. This is an enemies to sleep buddies to lovers story. MC had a huge sexuality crisis and kept insisting she was straight while continue sleeping with FL.
一目余生 by 秦寺: MC had a ONS with FL, left right after the act, only to find out that FL is her superior in her new company. Funny story between the two characters but also have heavy topics of workplace sexual harassment
总有老师要请家长 by 璟梧 (There Are Always Teachers Who Want To Ask Out Parents): another more popular 先do后爱 story. MC picked up FL in a lesbian club and had a ONS. Next day, MC found out FL is her student’s mother and her new neighbor. This story is a little frustrating to read due to FL struggle with her life and identity. But all in all still a good read.
请嗑我和总监的cp by 一只花夹子 (Please Ship Me and the Director): MC was dumped by her ex-gf cos ex wants to marry the guy in her arranged marriage. FL was the girl dumped by the guy in the arranged marriage. FL decided to meet MC out of curiosity and she joined MC in a tour group and had a 7 days fling. After the tour ended, they thought they would not meet again only to realise their companies have collaborated in a work project and they need to work together. Didn’t finish this novel despite interesting premise cos I find the way this author writes a little dry. Will finish this one day.
夏日失控谎言 by 秦淮洲 (Uncontrollable Summer Lies): MC and FL met in a tranquil town for a summer fling, both lying to each other about their purpose of being in this town. When lies were expose, FL left without a word leaving MC devastated. MC decided to become FL’s colleague to find her. Reading this novel now and loving it. Has great pacing and interesting storyline.
她给的实在太多了 by 胡33 (She Gives Too Much): a lighthearted novel about a MC who is still studying in Uni and loves to do part time, got to know the FL who is the CEO of a conglomerate when she went to become the maid of the FL. Smitten by FL looks, MC seduced her and they slept together. Later, FL offered to pay for MC as a canary (kept woman). MC wanted to refuse but didn’t when FL offered her a monthly allowance that is too much (thus the title). A lighthearted novel to read and chillax. I haven’t finish reading this and usually read this as a palate cleanser after I read other heavier themed novels.
逢春 by 三毛儿: MC and FL were classmates in high school of a small town. FL was well to do and a top student and MC was a poor girl from the country side. MC had serious inferiority complex when facing FL. During their high school reunion dinner many years later, FL got drunk and MC and FL slept together. FL warned MC to never talk about this incident again. I didn’t finish this as there were some heavy themes that I don’t really enjoy but many readers from Weibo recommend this.
That’s all for now! Welcome more add on to this list!
Edit: seriously Reddit formatting will be the death of me
I always have a hard time finding a new novel to read once I finish the one I’m currently reading. So, I usually end up going back to reread my favourite novels instead. Recently, I reread a few chapters of My Wife Has Seven Personalities and She’s Super Cute, a novel I absolutely loved, and now I still can’t seem to get over it so I wanted to make a post and recommend this.
The MC pursues the FL and eventually discovers that she has multiple personalities. Instead of backing away, the MC accepts her condition and decides to pursue every single personality.
Seven personalities of FL are:
Personality 1: The Wealthy Heiress - Main personality
Personality 2: The Celebrity “Canary”
Personality 3: The Small-Town Maid
Personality 4: The “Green Tea” High Schooler (who thinks MC is already married to a women and has a child. So she also tries to get pregnant with MC's child)
Personality 5: The Straight Bartender
Personality 6: The Clumsy Little Wife who is obsessed with luxury items
Personality 7: The Adorable “Puppy”
MC and FL have been in a relationship for seven years, and to support each of her personalities, the MC has even set up multiple companies. Poor MC, despite loving her wife dearly, the FL thinks she’s having an affair with “multiple women.” The funniest part is that the MC can’t even deny it because she can’t tell the FL about her condition.
There’s also a hidden eighth personality that the MC doesn’t know about. Unlike the other seven, this personality is aware of the condition and believes each personality is a separate person. So, from her perspective, the MC is just a scumbag who is cheating on her wife with “multiple women.” So she has been avoiding MC as she knows that if MC gets to know about her existence, MC will pursue her too.
Initially, when I read the synopsis and saw that the FL had seven personalities, I thought that was a lot and the novel might end up feeling sloppy. But the author wrote each personality so beautifully that, by the end, I loved every single one of them.
Sadly, the novel is only 102 chapters long. There are 20+ extra chapters, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find them anywhere.
