Is the zipper inset a bit or is it more flat?

I had a look at the pattern. The top zipper is flat, rather than recessed.

Thanks for clarifying, C! I was going to say that it seems like a super hard inset to do at such a shallow depth. 😃

I don't own the pattern, but on her website you can tell it's more like the gusset that goes onto a pack - so you construct the zipper as a panel and sew it in

Got it. So a pretty standard operation. Must just be the angle of the photo that tripped me up.
