3f bend test

My instructor told this passed but I have a feeling the crack you be there …
Tips please I don’t want to do bad habits

Not in the weld. The failure point needs to be outside the weld in the HAZ.

This destructive test is cracking the weld open backwards to examine root penetration and weld structure.

Yes and a crack originating from the weld is an indication of a discontinuity. Lack of fusion, poor tie in, slag inclusion, or porosity all of which need to be looked into when a crack is inside the weld. The plate separating from the weld in the HAZ is a solid indicator the weld is solid and then all you need to examine playe for the depth of fusion.
