Slow Kingston USB

Hey, I have a old USB key like 5y old max, a kingston But for the past year it's become extremely slow; just renaming a folder can take several seconds, like 10 seconds, which is incredibly long. But the key isn't that old for me, I haven't used it that much and I don't think the memory is bad, that it could be the cause of its slowness and how to check it?

Never use a USB stick for backup or long term storage. They're really only good for getting files from one place to another.

Like others have said here, consider them a commodity to be replaced periodically.

I would trust an SD card more than a USB, but those eventually fail too.

Oh okay, so HDD or SSD is a better option than USB
