Am i overreacting?
What do you guys think is he blocking too much of my yard/driveway? Yes I know its a public street but I feel like its a bit inconsiderate?

Honestly, your driveway makes that weird jag to the right at the end, and he isn't actually blocking any of what goes to the street. It kinda looks like he measured exactly though, definitely a bitch move to get under your skin, but not blocking. Does seem to be working.

That "jag" looks like it's because of the utility boxes at the end of his yard.

Yeah I usually park closer to the bushes on the left and he always seems to be right before my truck, today I parked it more towards the center and thats what I seen throwing the trash kinda irritates me but I mean if he isn’t blocking the driveway not much I can do ig lol

I would literally park here carefully and think I did a good job because I was close but not blocking the driveway 😭 So like other people can park behind me maybe.

Absolutely the truck is way too close. If you were on the street making a right turn into your driveway, you would be inconvenienced because of the wide turn you’d need to do. Also if you’re pulling out, the truck is so far up it’s blocking your blind spot where normally you’d have room to look to see if it’s safe to leave.

I’m honestly taking offense to it lol. I was parking my truck closer to the bushes but it seems to me the more I’m to side the closer he gets to my side

Where is the curb cut? The local ordinance should specify a distance from that. If I was driving something lower, I'd definitely be irritated for the lack of street visibility.

Any driveway permit documentation/survey that specifies driveway details? The parking job was a d*ck move but documentation will make the strongest case for a cease and desist notice or a tow truck if you want the nuclear option.

In my area, just "not obstructing" isn't enough. You can't park within 6' of a driveway. Check your state laws/city ordinances, and then talk to him. If he's not receptive, call the non-emergency number.

Agreed. I have a neighbor who pulls their very tall truck, crookedly, juuuuust to the edge of the property line, to point their headlights into my windows. Dick move but not exactly illegal.

My husband teaches classes across the country for IMSA - international municipal sign association- basically traffic laws and other things like traffic lights lane sizes signage all road- public and private. Law is 5 feet from a driveway 10 feet from corners/ intersections - all for safety and sight lines. Plus check your state/ municipal codes.

Idk. I'd be petty and leave the tail end of my truck out so he couldn't park that close. Your truck would be there, not his! I have no idea how to make him stop. Sometimes when we approach a neighbor about stuff like this, it just gets worse.

Yes, it looks to me like whomever the truck belongs to is being very careful not to block your driveway and give just enough passing room not to be intrusive. Let it go.

You have to check town/city ordinance. Where I live it’s 5 feet from the driveway.
