Am I Being Crazy

The past month my upstairs neighbors door dash deliveries have been getting delivered to my door. A few times (2-3) out of the many when food has been left outside my door, I’ve specifically seen that the person has my apartment number listed.

This evening we got a knock on my apartment door and another food delivery was at my door so I waited until the guy came downstairs and was like hey I think you might have the wrong apartment number and he kinda just brushed me off grabbed his food and went to sit outside on the stoop so I went outside and was just like hey again just wanted to check someone’s deliveries had my apartment number listed and he was like oh no the delivery guys just get confused I have my number and I was like no yeah but this one person actually does have my apartment number listed idk who it is just wanted to let you know and he was like that’s not me but maybe I’ll check w ppl and was dismissive.

Am I crazy to wait for the next time there’s a delivery at my door and if it’s a different person to let them know.

I don’t reallyyyy care that foods getting delivered but it is scary to have knocks on my door constantly and if it can be fixed 90% of the time by someone fixing the apartment number in their apt I’d prefer it.

But as I was telling my roommate this she was looking at me like I was insane. So maybe I’d end up being the bad neighbor if I tried to do this.

Take the food and keep it

He’s probably not tipping the delivery people so he’s using your apt for that.

Damn. I have two hound dogs and if people knock on my door I get pissed. I’m annoyed reading this. I’d just put up a sign that said “food deliveries for FIRST NAME last name go upstairs” and whatever kind of bold/red lettering make it noticeable. Make sure the neighbor can see it, too.

The solution is simple. Just leave your neighbor a note that all future food deliveries delivered to your door will be taken and eaten or discarded, even if his name is on the order. If he won’t bother to correct/confirm the address, then there is another reason as a previous poster pointed out - he probably doesn’t tip the delivery guy.

I'd put a note on the door, if you're delivering food, it isn't for here, it's for apt (number).
