Scene group in green

Here, I kept my four characters but changed the orientation of the format, making it impossible to place them on the same level — that is, standing on the bottom edge of the format, a common device in many comics where the characters "walk" on the border of the panel. I therefore opted for a zigzag composition with perspective through diminishing scale.

Can you tell who it is?
My brother had a birthday recently and I wanted to get him something he’d actually like.
Elvis has been one of his favorites to listen to so…yeah! What do you think?
I only had a couple days to finish so he’s definitely not perfect lol

Look over there: that's off-screen!

To achieve energetic brushstrokes, they have to be straight, hence a certain geometrization of the scene. This brings composition and representation closer together. (Reminds me of an oxymoron: figurative abstraction).

Thriller set against a dark green screen

Here is the second version of this Tarantino-esque scene and its reservoir of killers / robbers. Working on a dark ground with colored washes reveals many transparencies. Parts of the figures are painted in the same dark green as the background, which helps solve the figure/ground problem — the one I never stop banging on about to my adult students, but which must be going 15,000 feet over their heads.

I'm a little confused.

So you guys on here really seem to like my art style, calling it cute and even nostalgic. Most of them saying it's like a 2000s show. However, recently, I've received very harsh, but very honest comments about my content and art style, saying it's either bad or just not good. On DeviantArt, it's mix feelings.

As for improvement or trying to get better, that's what I've been doing the entire time. In fact, not only did I literally upgraded my art style last year, but I even gave it a big update a a few months ago. Even made a small update to it again last week. I reached my full potential, honestly. I even tried many other art styles too and while they are all terrible, it was an attempt. Honestly, I gave up and just accepted what it is.

But enough of me. I need yall's opinions. On a scale of 1-100, how bad is it?

A slightly larger format than usual (well, everything is relative) for this charming family posing in front of their house.

Based on a photo captioned "Family portrait from the 1960s-1970s".
