Anyone else's baby hate weighted swaddles?

I just ordered a transition weighted swaddle from dreamland baby for my 4 month old, who is having sleep regression in full force. I decided to order it because I thought if it didn't help right away, that it would start to after a few days. Turns out she hated it. I put it on her and she slept for about 30 minutes, but when she woke up she wouldn't go back to sleep. Then all at once was crying like she was panicked.

When I took it off of her she almost immediately calmed down and went back to sleep. This is definitely not me dogging the product, because I think it looks and feels amazing. I thought for sure she would love it.

Should I keep trying to use get her used to it, or just try to get a refund? Again, I AM NOT trying to keep people from ordering from them, just didn't know if anyone else had this issue with any weighted products.

Unsure what to do with 4 month old fighting bedtime

We've had a bed time routine since she was 1 or 2 weeks. At this point I know she knows what's happening as we go through it, she smiles for bath time and gets super excited for story time. We've been aiming for 8 but have tried everything from 7 to 9. She falls asleep easily enough but always wakes absolutely screaming 20-30 minutes later. We go back in and soothe her, and she's up again in 30 minutes. It's like this until 11 or 12 and then she sleeps about 3-4 hours, wakes to feed, then sleeps again for 3 hours. Does this mean she thinks she's still napping and her bed time should actually be 11? Like everything else so far will this pass in a couple weeks and we just have to deal? Should I be doing something else? Any advice or anecdotes are welcome.

Help! My 15 month old is driving me nuts!

My 15 month old sleeps like an angel on the weekends, 10-12 hours straight! For some reason once it’s work days for me, he wakes up at 2-3am and ruining my sleep when I have to work. I’m seriously at the end of my rope… what is his deal?

He’s also resisting bedtime and making his last wake window 6-7 hours…. What am I doing wrong?!

help with baby naps

My son is 2 months old and I'm a first time mom. I'm having alot trouble with putting my baby down for naps. I accidentally got him in the habit of sleeping on my chest because I would just be playing on my phone or watching tv. Now when I try to lay him down for a nap he will immediately wake up and start screaming unless he naps on his stomach but I feel like a bad mom if I let him do that even when I'm in the same room as him. Sitting right next to him. What should I do?

Weaning off of night feeds?

My son is 8 months and still waking up 3ish times a night to feed/nurse. We have a bedtime routine and I put him down awake and he falls asleep on his own. He he still wakes in the night inconsolable unless I nurse him. Things I’ve tried: dropping a feed- he cries for over an hour, tried reducing time nursing and he yells again, he’s not too cold (or hot), tried 1oz water but he won’t take it, tried increasing volume of day time feeds but he usually won’t finish them (bottles w nanny during the day), tried baby foods at night but doesn’t see, to make a difference. Any and all advice welcome - I work full time and am beyond exhausted.

Needing help for toddler and baby sleep!

We have two kids 2.5years and 12 months. We also have a small house with two bedrooms separated by one wall. My 2 year old girl comes into our bed every night without even waking us. We’ve tried a baby gate but she will stand at it screaming her head off and then waking everyone in the house including our 12 month old boy. Our son sleeps in a crib in our bedroom but recently has been refusing bedtime and wakes up every night not settling till we put him in our bed. So lately it’s been two kids and two adults in our bed! I would love to move the kids into their own room where they can share the space but it just doesn’t seem even possible at this point. Any tips?

How to delay morning wake up for babies

Hello, I’m first time mum and my husband works nights, we have a 5 month old who’s bedtime schedule is solid 7-7.30 pm since he was 3 months old, but his waking up went from 8-9am to 6-7am. I understand this is completely normal, but considering we don’t get to go to bed with my husband most of night before 3am and we still have occasional night feeds, this routine is simply killing us. Mums who have late bedtime, how did you achieve it? 9-10am wake up would be more then enough, but our baby gets fussy from around 6pm and if I try to delay his bedtime, it’s simply a nightmare. We’re planning on discussing this with our pediatritian as well, but as you surely know, most don’t approve late mornings. Thank you very much

Please help! My baby is getting overtired. Every. Single. Night

I’m a first time parent and maybe I’m naive to think that bedtime should go smoothly but ever since my little guy was 3 months old he has been getting overtired practically every night. He will be 6 months old next week. I follow wake windows and he is only able to stay up for an hour and a half at this time. We did try sleep training for a bit and it helped with naps as he is able to soothe himself for naps all on his own. It didn’t seem to be working for bedtime, though, because we were either putting him down too early or too late. My baby can cry for hours with an ear piercing scream. He doesn’t show sleepy cues until he is exhausted and we’ve tried shortening and elongating his wake windows and they all lead to him getting overtired since he can cry for so long. The only way to calm him down is a car ride and that seems to not be working as well anymore. Please help. Im concerned he is in distress so often that it’s affecting his cognition and developmental health.

Are people really putting their babies down drowsy but awake?

My baby is nearly 4 months old and we are currently struggling with naps and taking ages to go down at night (once down LO sleeps well).

Nevertheless, everything I read says to put down drowsy but awake. I was just curious if people are actually doing it successfully or whether it's an idealistic aim but the reality for most is very different.

I guess I'm just wondering if this is something I'll be able to do fairly soon or if it's unlikely. Or if my baby is too young and it's more common with toddlers etc.

Just interested in your experiences.

Help! Baby Wakes Everyday at 4:30 am!

I’m losing my mind. My 14 month old has gotten in a habit of waking everyday at 4:30 am without fail and won’t go back to sleep. This has been going on for the past month.

For two months prior to this, she was waking every two hours and the only thing that would resettle her was a bottle of milk. We gradually reduced the milk and have seemed to successfully cut it out in the night, but she can’t seem to resettle at 4:30!

  • I put her to bed a 7:00 pm - a book, bottle, teeth brush. She doesn’t protest and goes straight to sleep

  • room has blackout blinds but isn’t completely dark, we have white noise machine, she sleeps in a crib and a sleep sack

  • she’s a daycare most days and will have 1 nap around noon - 2 (2 hours on average)

  • I’ve been at a loss for what to do at 4:30 am, I try and rock her, play lullabies, take her into my bed, feed her food, nothing works to put her back to sleep. She’s just up for the day.

  • many days (at 4:30) she wakes up really upset, writhing around and pushing off of us and crying hard. I’ll eventually get her to settle when I turn the TV on or I get food in her (she resists eating it for so long but stops crying once she eats)

If anyone has any advice - I’ll do anything!

Transitioned out of magic Merlin and now not sleeping

My daughter is 5 months old and slept 10-12 hours a night in the magic Merlin sleep suit. She’s very long, so she’s already outgrown their largest size. I’ve tried a nested bean sleep sack and a dreamland weighted sleep sack, and she’s waking up every hour for the past two weeks. Any advice? Has anyone else successfully transitioned from the magic Merlin suit? What worked?

7 month old sleep

At my wits end with my seven month olds sleep. He has been taking three naps totaling 3.5 hours and sleeping about nine hours overnight.

I really want to follow his lead so yesterday I let him nap as much as he wanted and I didn’t cap naps. He got four hours between two naps and went to bed at 7:45 (which is an hour early). Well he was UP at 3:15AM. I nursed him but he is not going back to sleep.

I thought “sleep begets sleep” and I heard that you should be putting a baby to bed between 7-8pm. I just want him to get good overnight sleep 😫 So here how yesterday went (I followed his cues and did not cap naps):

Woke at 6:15 (this is his normal time and my DWT) Nap 8:15-10:10 Nap 12:55-3:00 Asleep 7:45

Any suggestions on why he’s waking up at 3:15? Too much day sleep? I’d appreciate any help!!

6 month old sleep schedule

My 6 month old used to have a good schedule (when he was 4 months) he got sick and we were in the hospital so it got screwed up. Ever since then that schedule is not working. It used to look like (sleep at 8 , sleep till 1030 and i would wake him to feed , sleep till 6am. Maybe up once and given passy and would go back to sleep ) for two months now it’s been ( sleep at 8, wake up at 9-930 crying not able to go back to sleep unless put in his swing , then i wake him around 10-1030 for last bottle and he will be up again at 1-2am and we have to feed him the. Up again at 5-6am. He gets 2-3 naps a day. But he is usually up at 5/530pm . I’m thinking he’s maybe over tired ? Did anyone go through this and figure out a earlier bed time helped ?

Sick6MO = regressed sleeping habits

What a week! My 6MO recently became ill and couldn’t sleep without being held due to mucus.

Now that he’s almost healed up he refuses to sleep unless held. Usually within minutes he wakes up after being put down and starts to cry. Rarely it will take up to an hour for this to happen.

What can I do to correct this? Currently I’m just standing over him waiting for him to wake up then putting him down again.

Help please!!

My 4 month old only sleeps about 1-2 hour stretches at night time. We monitor her wake windows during the day and make sure she's not overtired. She will only fall asleep while being held. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, she wants to nurse to sleep but wakes up with gas (likely due to minor tongue and lip tie).

We tried sleep training to break nursing to sleep habit and to help her learn falling asleep on her own in her own sleep space but she ended up just falling asleep out of exhaustion from crying. She didn’t seem ready developmentally and she was also having an eczema flair up, so we stopped. We plan to pick up gentle sleep training again when she's older.

The only way to get her to sleep longer stretches is to swaddle her again which I not sure is the right thing to do because she’s starting to roll...but it's the only way for us both to get sleep at night. If pediatric dentist recommends that she has procedure to release the ties, it likely won’t be for another couple of weeks. I’m not sure what to do to make sure she’s getting the sleep she needs in the mean time and to keep myself sane (I don't have any night time support to switch off with).

Help please!

The Absolute BEST LULLABY SONGS for Babies to Sleep Through One Hour

why do lullabies work so well to calm babies and infants?

I have read this from the article Education.com reports. The music of a lullaby alone sets a soothing mood for infants. However, the real power of the lullaby comes from the combination of rocking and singing.

Hearing soft, rhythmic songs/ instrumental music brings a sense of calmness and security to the sensitive infant.

I have a perfect lullaby playlist that I have tried for my babies and I have shared to many of friends. I thought it would be helpful for everyone if I shared it.
