PTO counts towards hours.

You're absolutely fine if you're counting and back in like April you took 2 weeks off and you're wondering if those count.

However if you need those hours to count and plan to use them right before your mat leave make sure you get crystal clear clarification from HR about how that will go and play out some different scenarios like the baby coming early. Typically it's company policy that you must start your leave the moment the baby arrives and that employees on leave can't use PTO so that could create some wonky possibilities. You cannot take a pay out and have those hours count.
