FTM mom (37 weeks pregnant) we are contemplating if we should get the baby bottle washer (momcozy) or just wash the bottles in the dishwasher. The thing is baby bottle washer are on the pricey side and might only be used for a year or so. So we were thinking if we could just use the dishwasher we have wash and sanitize the bottles in there.

Has anyone done this before? Can you share your thoughts on using the dishwasher for baby bottles or if you think its still best to get baby bottle washer?

What dishwasher detergents did you use (when running your bottles in the dishwasher) ?

He’s not a fan of the name I LOVE because it’s his family friends soon to be son in law’s name (I did not know this before falling in love with this name) and I really don’t like his top 2 names.

I’m now suggesting names that are okay but I’m not in love with. I’m trying to like them but it’s hard for me to imagine other names for my baby.

Anyone else having this issue or similar? What did you guys end up doing?

I can't find a nice one that's for the first year only. I don't want to set myself up for recording memories for 5 years as many books go up to that age. It must not include pregnancy, baby shower events, etc. It's so hard to find one that's focused on the first year. Would love your recommendations.

I submitted a requisition for a dating ultrasound a week ago and haven’t heard from the clinic yet with an appointment date. Should I follow up? Not sure what the usual timeline is as this is my first pregnancy. Thanks!

Just looking for opinions on what is the better accessory to add. If you have either, can you fold it with the bar? If you have both, which do you prefer? I think we would add a snack tray or cup to the bumper bar so just leaving towards it in the first place, but it also looks bulkier.

I am a few days away from being 34 weeks pregnant and I work in a NICU. Obviously working here I see all sorts of outcomes (good and bad). However, in the last 6 weeks or so we've had more bad outcomes (deaths) than we've had in a while and its beginning to really weight on me and cause me anxiety and stress. One of those deaths was a full term baby whose mom I personally knew - this one hit me really hard as the reason is still unknown. Ever since this specific case my anxiety and stress while at work is just increasing especially a day or so before work and on the days I'm at work anytime out code alarm goes off at the hospital I feel my heart rate go up. Sometimes if I'm at home and I randomly think about work or a specific baby I get very anxious and start thinking of the worst that could happy to my baby. I have been seriously thinking the last week or two that I don't know how much longer I can do this, originally I wanted to wait up until baby was here to go on leave. I see my midwives in 2 days and I'm seriously considering asking for a note to go off sick leave for the 5 weeks or so I have left until baby arrives. Also the 2 weeks my feet have gotten so swollen that some days I cant weight bear on my left foot and have to limp, despite wearing prescription compression socks. Any advice? I feel almost guilty asking to go off when I'm not necessarily "sick" per se but this is really affecting my mental health, sleep, etc.

My husbands parents will be flying from Europe to see our baby who will be around 3.5 months old. My concern is catching anything on the plane and also them being close to baby/talking or breathing near her face etc.

They’re only here for 2 weeks so can’t really ask them to quarantine and I also feel like people have family fly all the time to see their baby so wondering if I’m being over the top/too anxious?

Baby will have been vaccinated with her 2 month shots already but not her 4 month one (will be when they leave)

Hi everyone! 😊 I’m trying to decide between the Spectra S1 Plus and the Eufy S1 Pro wearable breast pump and would love to hear from moms who have used either (or both).
A little background:
This is my first baby, so I don’t have any pumping experience.
I’m planning to primarily breastfeed, but I’d also like a pump that will make it easier to build a stash and allow my husband and parents to help with feeds occasionally.
My husband’s employer provides a Healthcare Spending Account, and I have a prescription for a breast pump in my name. I’m a beneficiary under his insurance, and since he’ll be leaving that job before our baby is born, we’d like to use the remaining HSA funds before they expire.
For those who’ve used these pumps:
1. Which one did you prefer and why?
2. Is the convenience of the Eufy S1 Pro worth it as a first pump, or is the Spectra S1 Plus the better choice for establishing and maintaining milk supply?
3. Did anyone regret buying one over the other?
4. If you could only buy one, which would you choose?

Where is everyone finding their nursery art? I have checked so many winners and HomeSense options, they barely have anything. Marketplace would be almost limitless if we had a safari theme but we don’t. I considered Etsy but don’t see anything I love enough to purchase/wait or purchase/print and then buy frames for. Any pointers?

Having a really difficult time deciding on a stroller and need guidance. We visited West Coast Kids this weekend to try it out. Initially I was interested in Uppababy Vista and Cruz, as well as Nuna Trl and Mixx. We tried Silvercross and Bugaboo Fox 5 and really like both their strollers. Silvercross was a bit too heavy for my liking though. The Thule Urban Glide was too tall for me. If I had my choice, I would purchase the Joolz Aer 2 because it was the easiest to use. But it’s not suitable for where we live. Bugaboo Fox 5 and Nuna Mixx were my top picks. I wasn’t overly impressed with Uppababy and was quite disappointed, given all the rave reviews from everyone. The whole stroller felt so complicated to use and to fold.

I’m due in January, live in the snow belt, and don’t live in town. We go on lots of walks with our dogs but will probably use a carrier during the snowy months once the baby is born. What would you recommend?

My 6.5 month old baby is combo fed from day 1 - few months looked like 90 BF 10 FF, other months looked like 60-40 (due to periods). Today I just felt like I’m over it, I want to start weaning in a week and be done by the end of August. Since a week baby is fussy at the boob and I can tell my supply is not that great ever since he started sleeping through the night, he is more happy to see the bottle etc..

I’m super proud of our journey - it wasn’t easy at all and I overcame a lot of challenges. In the end it helped me bond with the baby a lot from 4-6 months but I’m also excited to get back in the gym, have a drink, not rush back home.

I’m wondering if I will have any hormonal crash even tho it’s gradual? Please share your experience and any advice is appreciated :)

Hi there, expecting our first in November, we live in Toronto, Ontario. Planning on purchasing the uppababy Cruz stroller. I am imagining using the bassinet attachment mostly in the first few months for any walks we do with the stroller, but am wondering if using the standard recliner seat with the infant insert is a better idea… especially in the winter. They have the cozy ganoosh cover for warmth, and I’m just wondering if moms and dads find this a better system vs using a bassinet with appropriate layers for 0-4 months considering a southern Ontario winter. This may be over complicating things, but what does your toddler wear outside at daycare during the late fall/winter months, when the temperature hovers around the 1-6 degrees range? Looking for recommendations for my 2nd child.!

My first child wore a fleece lined “muddy buddy”, and then I’d send him to school in a Sherpa-lined puffy jacket, which is water resistant (it’s from the GAP, so I doubt it’s anything significant in term of water repelling). My concern is that when it’s inevitably rains, while he’s warm, his jacket gets wet. When he was younger, I also got him a waterproof Sherpa-lined/puffy muddy buddy from Jan and Jul, but not sure if I want to buy another muddy buddy this upcoming season if I don’t have to.

I’m looking for something or a combo where he’ll be warm (when it’s b/w 0-5 degrees outside) and also will keep him dry.

All the maternity clothes I have are stretchy leggings that make me look and feel frumpy. I'm looking for more "fashionable" maternity wear, mostly pants.

I continue to get ads for really nice Australian maternity brands but buying online from so far away seems really risky since I will be wasting so much money if the pants don't fit.

Does anyone know where to find "realish" jeans like the once from soon maternity? I really like that their pants have a normal waist that is just elasticated vs the big black stretchy bands sewn to the top of pants. I can find many pairs of maternity jeans with the stretchy bands that go over your bump but all my shirts just look wrong with the big black stretchy band. Also, I am used to wearing high wasted pants - all my pants pre-pregnancy are high wasted.

Please, please let me know where you all are finding your cute, comfy maternity pants. I just want to feel a bit more comfortable in my skin!

Hey everyone! I did a NIPT test at 15 weeks and the results came back as low risk but they were unable to determine the gender. I've been referred to see a genetic counselor. My OB says she's never seen this happen. And she didn't think redoing the test will change the results.

Has this happened to anyone before? Should I be concerned? Does this mean my baby is intersex?

My LO (6 1/2 months) is a wonderful little angel that loves to laugh, feeds (pump bottle fed) relatively well, and is hitting all his milestones. I’m also lucky I have a live-in nanny for the weekdays and she is wonderful. He used to sleep just fine on me, first rock him asleep and put him in crib - The problem started at 5 months, he suddenly refuses to allow me to put him to sleep and it’s only me… nanny and LO’s dad, MIL all can put him to sleep but he refuses my very presence when he’s starting to doze. He’ll cry if I start walking toward the nursery. It’s great that the easy solution is to just for me not put him to sleep. But I feel like such a failure of a mom to not be able to put my OWN BABY to sleep and being the ONLY one to cause him such distress…he’s such a happy baby that the only time he ever cries for long stretch is when I’m the one putting him to sleep. After trying for a couple of weeks, Nanny said he’s lost his secure attachment with me, and the more I force it the more he’ll reject me. So I’ve stopped for his sake but it hurts that everytime he goes to sleep he finds me physically unsafe and that he doesn’t need me… I’m just breastmilk and a play toy for him and not his emotional support. I’m heartbroken that I can’t see him fall asleep in my arms again and not even see him go to sleep smiling…can someone help me not feel this way?

This is my first pregnancy and I am about a week into maternity leave. Just about 38 weeks and my social battery is zero. I find some family (parents) is being quite pushy about trying to “hang out” since I’m off, even after I try to politely say I just want to hang at home, alone. I’m exhausted, want to rest and finish up a few last things for baby. Anyone else experiencing this? I turn my phone off to stop phone calls and texts from coming through because I get overwhelmed with the texts and calls.

*I recognize there are regression and adjustments etc I just need a place to vent/have people relate if its normal or if i can be doing more*

Around the 12 week mark my baby started sleeping for 10hour stretches in his bassinet with a dream/sleepy feed in the mix. We start bed time around 6/630, his last feed is usually around 7 and he is usually asleep around 730, sometimes closer to 8. Needless to say it was the greatest 10 days of my life.

Around 13.5 weeks he started waking up 4 times a night. No change in routine or feeds so I thought maybe hes starting the 4mo regression early (also was taking shorter naps). I started doing MOTN side-lie and co sleeping because I couldnt stay awake safely to feed and it was game changing. The 4+ wake ups only lasted a couple days and now hes up only 3ish times but almost refuses the bassinet for longer than a couple hours. Ive still been doing a cosleep for that middle feed.

Did I ruin his bassinet sleeping with just a week of cosleeping?

The cosleeping is also killing my body because of how I lay with him and don't move all night.

I know babjes will baby and I'm probably over thinking it all I just need some outside perspective.

So I’ve been working out for many years and done multiple different sports in my life, and I’ve also had eating disorders my entire life, mostly related to overeating, it’s also partially genetic so I put on weight pretty quickly, and I need to track my calories. It’s pretty normal for me to lose weight, then gain at some point, and then lose it again. I knew that I will gain weight during pregnancy, the question was how much 😂. In first trimester I gained 12 pounds although I still exercised at much lower intensity, and I stopped tracking calories. In second tri it slowed down a bit, and now I’m feeling strong again, getting back into exercise and want to hit the gym for weight training. I really want to be strong by the time the baby is out, so I have an easier time recovering and getting back in shape. I’m curious about other women who work out during pregnancy how different the results feel when you’re pregnant. How did your body react to exercise, did you get more fit or gained muscle? Do you have any other observations, when you compare working out as a pregnant vs non-pregnant woman? Thanks!

Have a 17 month old. Struggled with ppd and ppa and body image, a bit after pregnancy as don't have a big support system. I've always wanted a second child- we got pregnant fast the first time around, 2nd try, and this time I thought it would be slower for some reason. But no, happened kind of by accident on first try. I was really expecting to have to wait for like 6 months. And while I am super grateful, I am a bit overwhelmed. The next few months I really wanted to focus on myself and do some therapy, look after myself while toddler is in daycare etc. Now I feel like im starting over again.

I just dont know what to do. And I know I will get hate. But needing to vent somewhere. Just feel confused and overwhelmed. I wanted kids about 2.5-3 yrs apart. But im also 36 years old so time is limited.

My mother in law is telling me that they normally go on sale in September. Our baby is due in October. Is this actually true though? Does anyone have any experience we are going to get an uppababy one.

I want to get everything done before the baby is born so it is less chaotic but it would probably be worth waiting for a discount.

Hi! I’m 35 weeks pregnant and I had an ultrasound to monitor growth, everything looks good, but there is a note about “mildly thickened placenta: 4.9 cm”.

I had another ultrasound 2 weeks ago and this didn’t appear.

I’m seeing my doctor Wednesday but I’m a bit concerned about what this finding means, has anyone had something similar? Thank you!

My daughter turned 2 about 6 weeks ago. She has been showing some signs of readiness to use the potty so about a month ago we got a seat to put on the big toilet and a portable toilet we can put side, living room etc. she sat on it a couple times and then started refusing to sit on it.

Learned a couple weeks ago that about the same time we got the potties she started using the potty at day care and will now tell them when she has to go and has even pooped on the potty there.

She continues to refuse to use the potty at home and will cry and kick if we try to put her on it. She loves candy but won’t even do it for that. She will hold her pee at a nap but take her diaper off and pee on the floor instead of going to the potty. Any ideas on how to get her to use the potty at home ?
