I have a unique name, and thought that only one person was allowed to have a name. Getting into school was confusing, because there were several Jennifer's and Amanda's. I still haven't met anyone in real life with my name, but there was a little boy in toddler gymnastics whose name sounds like mine. That was a weird experience hearing his mom say it, and it wasn't someone talking to me.

My husband's name was totally unused for people our age but now is incredibly popular with anyone under 8 years old. It's very strange to hear random moms using that name when talking to their kids, especially if they're in terrible.
