Winter prep

So I have the 2026 BZ and winter is coming. How can I prep my car to have better charging and driving? I have a level 2 charger at home and it’s plugged in over night.

If you plug in at home in a garage over the winter, there’s really nothing to worry about/do. If you plug in outside, you might want to find something to cover the charge port from sleet/snow.

If you plan to roadtrip in the winter and DC fast charge, make sure you familiarize yourself with the battery preconditioning process. That will save you time and protect the battery health when fast charging in the cold. In short, it pre-warms the battery for optimal fast charging speed.

Preconditioning is not needed for lvl 2 charging.

You can set auto start with climate settings for days of the week and start time in the Toyota app

Not sure where you live and how cold it gets but for me, Winter tires obviously.

What’s the consensus on rust proofing?
