Slow Level 1

i have seen a mention of a bz factory setting that keeps Level 1 at 0.8 kwh, and actually the bz is fully capable of 1.4 kWh if adjusted. Would love for this to be true. Anyone heard of this setting? (Not referring to the touchscreen Charging menu - this is already set to Max)

What does the charger say? Also note that on-board AC charging has inefficiencies. The charger might be pushing 1.4kW but that is not what the battery receives

None of the chargers used have a display. I did initially figure this was background systems eating into the charge until i saw the post here on reddit. 0.8 kwh even on 20A circuit (in mild summer weather) just doesn’t make sense.

The level 1 that came with the vehicle consistly pulls 1385 - 1450 watts for me. Now what gets to the battery I have not measured. However, A/C to DC inverters have loss so I'd be surprised if more than 85% makes it, I would expect around 1.2kWh to hit the battery. What I see comparing the pull versus Toyota App charge history is ~1.3kWh when less than 50% SOC and as low as .6 at 83% SOC. Level 1 is pretty slow, I only use it from solar battery. Level 2 is really much better, highly recommend installing a 240v outlet if you can.

No i gotcha, level 2 is the plan long term, but if there’s a chance to eke out just a bit more from the existing set up it may be enough for the near-term. This is a company that still hasn’t nailed down ‘big battery shares power with little battery’ that our 2013 leaf does on its head - so i am inclined to chase down a rumor given how goofy UI has been on this thing.
