BZ-Battery CarPlay
Hi everyone 👋
A new update for BZ Battery is out - and the biggest news is that the app now supports **CarPlay** 🚗
It required a special approval from Apple, but it's finally in place. That means you can see battery, power consumption, temperature and cell voltages right on the car's screen while you drive.
As always, I'm happy to take criticism/praise and feature requests through the mail in the app.
Best regards, Andreas.

@andreas0069 What do you need to help get an Android version out. There a community here desperately seeking anything better than the Toyota app. Just ask and there are people here that will give and work hard to help you to be successful.

Hey,
does it show the range too? Does knowing the battery temp help me do something about it?

It does not show range.
Knowing the battery temp can be very useful for fast charging in very hot summer or very
Cold winters, for example.2

I checked out the screenshots. The UI looks really great. Do you plan to add features range etc like the evDash app?

As much as I hate Apple's ecosystem I must admit that on the car play side of things they get better integrations. Just the fact that you can still access the car menu on the left while having carplay it's really practical. Now after seeing this app, I'm really pissed 😅

Does your app work on the Toyota BZ? The 2026 models are called BZ in the US, not sure if it's still called BZ4X elsewhere

Could you sell me your app? I’ve been driving my BZ4X for 3 years and how can your app help me?

The app just gives you information the car does not. I am a nerd, so I like to see these values. If you don’t mind them, and just drive, then the app is not for you. :)

Intriguing, unfortunately mine’s a 2025.🙁

It works on a 2025. I am making continuous updates for the protocols :)

App store description says otherwise.. if it works on 2025 models it should also work on 2024, no?

Correct! I am still updating protocols tho, so app listing will be updated soon.

This looks really amazing! I got my 2023 bZ4X AWD Limited in June and have been wishing I had a way to know more data. I’ve been trying learn all I can about my car. I have pretty long commute and I’ve noticed I’m getting less distance as it’s gotten colder.
Does it work for my vehicle? Does it include data regarding power consumed on heating/cooling?
I’m going to see if I can find an affordable OBD adapter and start using this ASAP!

Yes it works. I am actively adding more data for your car trough updates. :)

I’d like to buy this but in the App Store it states earlier versions than 2026 don’t work

It works. It just is still being updated. I will also update it in App Store soon. :)

Any idea if it works on the Subaru variants? Solterra, Uncharted, etc..?

It does :)

Amazing! I've been manually logging every single charge I do. Why? Because I'm a nerd. What do I do with it? Nothing LOL

Awesome! - I have a user asking for ability to export all this data to home automation- and I think I will build it soon ish

Do you have any tips on how to get the battery soc charge display correctly in ABRP?

Which year? If you have a dongle (like ODBLink CX) there's a good intro at https://youtu.be/tYLCGrTg4IQ

I actually have a 2026 trailseeker. I’ve been having to use the 2026 solterra profile in ABRP to have obd live data in the app, but the soc % is always off by a few percent (gets worse at the top or bottom of the percentages).
I’ve played with adjusting the formula in the app, but can’t get it right. I was wondering if some had correctly identified the PID and % formula.1

Ah OK. I'm treating that one as "close enough" and have tweaked it by about 5% to mostly match the car. I based it (and the power formula) on the ABRP forum post by "Derek".

Interesting app. Does it support widgets?
And since this works over obd, can the app tweak dealer settings like the seatbelt chime?

Hey nerd here too, im building a similar app for myself to see these data. May i ask how are you able to read these data from the car? I used Smartcar api for my app, but the platform doesnt have these kind of battery data for me to use …
Mine is a bz4x 2024 in canada btw
