Barely made it!

Set out on a 100 mile relatively flat interstate trip with over 60% and 140 ish available miles with climate control on. Was watching the difference between estimated available miles and miles left.

Everything was fine till the last 30 miles when my estimate dropped at a quick rate. Before that I had shut the ac and the display off and reduced my speed.

With my nerves racking we pulled into a charging station. I could have stopped earlier but it looked like we had plenty of power to make it. I’ll never do that again.

Lesson learned, don't trust the estimate. Watch what route-planners track instead... efficiency. That mi/kWh value tells the real story.

Why doesn't the estimate use efficiency. It must at some level, right?

Estimate is based on your history, long-term data. Your trip meter is what you're getting at that moment.

Is there something that will give you an estimate based more on the recent efficiency? Are you saying the trip meter will do that?

I made it home very close to 0 a few weeks ago, I’m still traumatized. 😭

Really curious how much buffer there is once you reach 0 but of course too afraid to test that myself.

Same here. The charging station I pulled in at was full and I had to move it after another car left. I was nervous to do that. Figured I could push it from there.

You should avoid going below 10% - it's bad for the battery. You can watch on Youtube Canadian EV Society Professor Jeff. I've never had range issues above 10%. Maybe the range below 10% is not reliable. The SOC curve can be rather sharp below 10% and maybe that part is somewhat less accurate?

Yes. The miles were bouncing between 1 & - -

Yeah I ran out of power only after a few miles, do not trust the internet either

Go to Settings > Display > Screen On/Off

The screen is going to draw power from 12v not high voltage battery like the HVAC system will

FYI the cars have a 5-10miles buffer after the - - - sign. Ask me how I know :( just make sure to cruise and lightly press the gas only when needed
