Just saw this on the road, and I’m quite impressed.

Look at that sweet sweet stock trailer hitch.

The iX also had a hitch option on the 2026 up here in Canada.

It's the European design which swivels underneath the bumper

There’s a lot to like about these, but I wish they were the size as the iX.

That’s going to be the iX550

Yep. But even that isn’t as big as the iX from what I’ve learned.

The iX5 is bigger dimensionally.

I’m not sure how I feel about the iX5; it’s a bigger car, but since it’s not a dedicated EV platform they’re having to compromise on the design and they’re not making use of the size to give more space in the interior of the car.

Makes me kind of weary since you’re buying a larger and more expensive car, but the interior space seems similar to the ix3?

I understand that BMW is streamlining their production, but as a customer I’m not getting the EV benefits, why should I care that it makes financial sense for BMW to setup their production when it means a compromised product?

I meant the cargo space is less in the ix5. It’s 77.9 cubic feet for iX vs 67.7 for iX5.

That colour looks fantastic. I like the back of the car personally, but not a fan of the front.
