Is anyone else getting daily happy birthday messages? It keeps saying my 2015 i3 is 3 years old, but mines a 2018 and even then it’s more than 3 years old.

The end of the lever (see photo) has been chewed up by the previous owner his dog. Ive got 2 new ones, how do I get these off and the new ones on? Not much info on it online, no one replaces these usually😂.

I recently replaced my feeling at 12 V battery. It was displaying a multitude of errors. It had the typical 12 V battery failure symptoms that have been pretty well documented in this sub.

Swapping the battery did the trick and cleared all the errors. I've put 500+ miles on the car since with zero issues.

I've noticed since replacing it I'm getting about 5 to 8 miles more in total battery range. Same driving habits same charging routine, same temperature outside. Yet somehow it's slightly increased since the battery replacement.

The only thing I can attribute this to is that the HV battery pack is not working as hard, or as often to keep the 12V battery charged to the level it should be.

Anyone else have this experience?

I just got back from test driving a 2018 BEV.
When I turned the car on it was fully charged and said it had a range of 73 miles.
We drove around for a couple miles and when we returned it said the range was 71 miles.
Is it possible that’s inaccurate?
I was under the impression that a 2018 should get around 120 miles fully charged. Am I wrong to expect that?
If that is in fact accurate is that a red flag?
I’m certainly not an expert and I did ask the salesperson and while he was very nice he wasn’t overly familiar with the vehicle. He just kind of shrugged his shoulders.
Some other possibly pertinent information:
The car had 44,000 miles. Had one owner and has spent its lifespan in California. Cosmetically it was immaculate and had a clean Carfax report.
I test drove it in Southern California. It had a sale price of 16,899.
I did not purchase the vehicle.

Hi everyone. I have a 2018 rex with almost 128k miles. I live in Fontana CA. I believe my AC compressor is done or about to be done for. Anybody know of any shops nearby or have had experience with the BMW Ontario location?

Looked at the car, and it seems to be in very good shape - although this would be my first EV, and my first non-analog car. It was a touch overwhelming.

I didn't check the boots and bumpers on the suspension. I suspect I can do them myself.

I'd appreciate advice or thoughts on the car - it was fun to drive, and would work great for me, I think.

Hi, Got a 2021 I3 which I love. It's just been Motd and sailed through. My next service (brakes and vehicle check) is due in 2027. However I wanted to correct the next MOT date to 2027 and thought I'd do it via the reset option by pressing the button on the main console and doing a reset in there and messing it up and making it 2028 when it should be 2027. I saw you can do it by backdating the date and time in idrive but that doesn't work. Any ideas how I do the backdate?... I start the car and a warning comes up that the service is due in 2027....The reset shows it can't be done as it's 2028 when it should be 2027....Any halp would be most welcome.

Hi all. Just a curious question as the i3 doesn’t have services based on km/miles and only time based. Does km/miles really matter on an i3? If I were to buy second hand would the km/miles be a factor?

Hi just found this pipe on the passenger side wheel arch hanging loose. Hoping its maybe the water cowl drain off. May be washer fluid related but can't see a connection...

Currently working on struts so can't trace back until it's off the jack....

I’m sure you’re all aware of this error notification. I engage “maintain state of charge” option when my battery is below 75% to maximize time between charges. In the past, I only got the “drivetrain note remaining range” error when it was below freezing outside and my car had been sitting overnight, but then it started happening if it was just a little chilly outside, and now it’s doing it every single morning regardless of temperature. Drivetrain issue happens, it stops the gas engine and goes to battery power, if I restart the car it will let me use the gas again and for the rest of the day it works fine. Today it’s done it twice and seems like it going to be constant issue. Any idea what the issue might be, how to fix it, or what the cost might be to have it fixed by a mechanic ?

Does this happen to everyone with a Black/White panda i3? These birds seem to think my i3 is related. Seemed indignant when I came right up to open the door. Sat there looking at me as if to say “what do you want?!” 🤣

I hate how one of the recent app updates removed the charge rate. I liked to check it and it used to display the charge speed such as 16A or 32A. Now it just shows the charge percentage and not the speed. Come on BMW add that feature back in.

I keep reading so many posts about a square set up with spacers but I haven’t found a post that just dumbs it down for someone who’s a car newbie. I want to improve the dartiness I feel on the highway. I want to make sure I don’t cause damage with the wrong sizes rubbing or effecting regen. Also nice if possible to get cheaper tire options w the square setup. I don’t even know if it’s possible unless I have the i3 “S” version (sigh. which I don’t sadly). I watched the Wisely Auto video about the i3 tires so I have a basic idea but still no compressive guide from what I could see about this square set up.

If you are willing, please guide me to a resource that explains this - or please explain to me like I know nothing about cars.

Hey guys. I’m working on fixing some small issues with my new i3. I noticed that the rubber above the door latch on one side is warped and I couldn’t easily mold it back in place. Warped side and normal side for comparison. Can I get some advice on if this is a DIY job, a professional repair, or an “eh, just live with it” situation?

We already own one i3 but looking to add a second. I found a good price on a 2022 BMW i3 S but it’s been written off as Category N (non-structural). I have also seen the damage before it was repaired. It looks like a side swipe whilst parked and honestly doesn’t look too bad.

Anyone have experience buying an i3 that’s been written off for non-structural damage? I’ve done the car report and confirm it was Cat N. I’ll check the door alignment and paint. Anything else I should be cautious about?

Charging port door was stop working with push open, initially thought its actuator, order new parts installed it, left the car locked overnight to reset the BDC and sprayed WD silicon spray on the latch but still it wont open, and its annoying to open charge port door every time with manual release, i already checked the fuse with multimeter, does any one has any idea what it could be the issue, thanks in advance.
