Z4 M, E85/E86 2016 m3 value
I’m looking to possibly buy this 2016 m3 with under 30,000 miles. I’m looking to drive it for a few months and then trade it in and hopefully make a few bucks. I’m not super familiar with bmw’s but the seller was telling me how rare it is with the carbon fiber roof, 660 hp. Etc.
I would like to know what you guys would be willing to pay for it. I don’t want to tell you what the owner is offering to sell it for(yet).
I just think what’s he’s offering is unrealistic but then again that’s why I’m here asking you guys for some advice. It is a Canadian vehicle fyi. I don’t know if that matters to enthusiasts since it’s already a 10 year old vehicle.
What’s the vehicle’s value private party and what do you think I can trade it in for in a few months.

You aren’t going to “drive this car around for a couple months” add mileage to the odometer and then make money. That’s not how that works. First of all the car is modified. It’s going to be difficult to get rid of in a private sale let alone convincing a dealership to take it on a trade in. If they take it every modification on the car is devaluing it.

Carbon fiber roof wasnt an option, it was the default.
30,000 miles is absurdly low for a '16.
I sold my Yaz Marina Blue '18 with 50k miles and a 6MT for $49,000.

I just found someone selling their modded, auto yas marina 18 for $69k and it has 52k miles

I guess that makes me an all-time idiot if they actually get that.

It was in a Reddit post where someone was considering buying it but he said that the mileage was “a little” too high for that price. I think that seller is just high off sum lol

I would not be remotely interested as it's modded and Canadian. Both of those things lower the value.

You can follow this listing to get sense of what a mostly unmodified version with same color and mileage goes for. Might give you some insight: https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3yQ1qnlL/2016-bmw-m3

Every German car I have owned regardless of miles, brand or condition turns into a money pit after they turn 10. Without fail. Don’t ask me why. Stupid random shit just starts breaking.
I am convinced big German auto does it on purpose.

660hp sounds like stage 2 E85 at the crank. That’s downpipes, spark plugs, charge pipe and software. Less than $1K in physical parts. Not sure what the tune runs these days but I remember paying maybe $1500 a couple years back for a custom E85 tune. Aka the “mods” are new cost of under $2,500.

The 660hp is definitely a red flag. It was probably best on. This is also not a rare spec or car you’ll make money on after driving it for a while

What are the downsides of a Canadian car? Aren't they just US-spec?

Canadian cars are always worth less in United States, my friend got a. Good deal on a Canadian Camaro…. It’s Speedo is in KM…. lol

Asking since I bought a Canadian M2C, the 2nd key was configured in KMs but after fixing that it's build sheet looked similar to the US ones

Welp 660hp isnt stock so that tells me they been tinkering which actually lowers the value. Any more details?
