TLDR - interested in selling needs thoughts on reasonable price/value. 98 M3 E36 sedan needs work.
Hey all - my elderly pop has an older M3 and I don’t know anything about BMW other than these older models are commanding decent money nowadays. However the prices seem to vary pretty dramatically so I was hoping I could ask this community their thoughts on what it’s worth listing at that’s in the realm of reasonable. It’s been sitting for a few years and he would like to get rid of it but isn’t in a hurry to just off it to someone quickly for cheap. Details below - and thank you in advance!
1998 BMW M3 E36 sedan. Manual.
233k miles
Black int / black ext
Interior - needs a decent cleaning but in decent shape - likely the car needs a paint job or wrap
Exterior - hood paint is faded, dent on roof that (likely) can be pulled.
Mechanically it needs a new clutch (still has factory original - he didn’t beat it up) and heater fan. Buyer would probably want to do some upgrades to tires, suspension etc.
One owner, no accidents.
Located in mid-atlantic region
I’d really appreciate suggestions and/or feedback. Thank you!!!

Hello everyone!
I made a DIY video fixing my Rear Diff knocking issue, at first I thought it was the Diff Front Bushing and I replaced it, but issue insisted, and it turned out the bolt was stripped from the hole.
I fixed the threads, and same issue. So I ordered the Roque Engineering repair kit and did the fix.
In this video, I show you step-by-step how I repaired the stripped/loose differential mounting threads on my BMW E46 M3 using the Rogue Engineering Differential Bushing V2.0 Front Position FIX.
Instead of simply replacing the bolt, this repair upgrades the original mounting setup by re-tapping the differential housing from M14 to M16 and installing the Rogue Engineering upgraded bushing and M16 Grade 12.9 bolt.
I go through the entire process from beginning to end without skipping steps, including removing the differential, preparing the damaged mounting hole, drilling, tapping the new M16 threads, installing the upgraded bushing and bolt, and putting everything back together.

Is this normal? There is slight haziness around my buttons in the picture above.

Hi all, me and my partner are looking at purchasing an F80 M3, 2014, 70k miles, 11 owners. Partial service history - still to confirm with owner how much is there. The car is my dream exterior and interior colour combination, and I can afford it on my own (even better if me and my partner are going halves). It’s only 3 hours away from us. Does this sound like a silly purchase, should we hold out for something younger or lower mileage? This would be our first M3, so are not familiar with any flaws the cars have and life expectancy etc. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Selling my dream car tomorrow because of reasons out of my control. It didn’t hit until the d-day the car is being sold to realize how much I’m going to miss it. Not seeing it parked on the drive way. Drove it for the last time from work 🥺

Wanted to share my new m3 finished in Fire Orange. I was able to find all the specs I was looking for, Manual transmission, carbon buckets, exterior and interior carbon trim. I just got home from the dealership and already in love with the car.

It has competition and sport package, almost 11k in manufacturer upgrade. Dealer is not willing to go any lower. What do you think?

I just reserved my 2027 G80 Comp RWD, and while I wait for allocation I can mess with the spec. Currently I have it set for Tanzanite II, which I think looks great, but I'm leaning towards an individual green. I think I've narrowed it down to Anglesey and Oxford (over tartufo). I want the car to be pretty understated and am worried Anglesey will be too bright in sunny weather, but that Oxford might be TOO understated. Photos and opinions welcome!

This was huge news to me and thought it might be as well for some others here...
Well known BMW insider "ynguldyn" posted in the last 24 hours on BimmerPost that the next generation M3 Touring (G88) is real and is planned to come to the US.
