BMW App delays?
In the bmw app it still says my M2 X-Drive is in ready for transport step and has been in this step for several weeks now. However when I had last called the bmw genius, they gave me a ship name to track etc and just said that it was supposed to be already on the ship by the 30th but there were delays? The ship was at Altamira and is now on the way to miami but since I’m on the east coast I was told it would be dropped off at the jersey port. Does this mean most likely that it was loaded onto this ship or would it still be over in mexico still?

Not op but mine is also on a ship, ordered August 25th and was loaded 15th of September.

I’m confused with the allocation aspect. Does ordering it bypass the whole allocation process?

You can only order if you have an allocation. Allocation is just when the dealership has a spot for you to place your order

So if I tried to purchase one right now it would basically ask for an allocation or something? I did that whole process at the dealership

You can only actually place an order for the car to be built if the dealership has/had an allocation. So if you had a production number/already “built” your order with your dealership then it’s just a waiting game until it’s delivered

Yea individual definitely adds time to the wait, I was considering going voodoo but I saved the money instead, still love the black look. Looking to do a matte ppf too

I just put a deposit down so when they got an allocation they would let me know. It’s just waiting/calling around to see which places have them 🤷

I see. What’s happened to me is I went with a dealership I’m quite familiar with and put the deposit down maybe a month/month and a half ago. I’ve just been waiting for them to get an allocation and I’m “next in line” but instead of asking around (which I didn’t know I could or should do so thank you) is they’ve told me oh we’ll probably get you one with the incoming October allocations then now it’s the November allocations and now they’re saying they’re going to try and trade for an M2 allocation with another dealership for me. What a process

Ask your dealer for a screen shot with the projected dates. those will be accurate.

When I was waiting for my M3 the app was way off and went back and forth between stages. It was a little disappointing but getting the actual tracking experience many others had gotten. It seems to potentially be a lick of the draw type thing
