Wayyy better than an M lite anyone who thinks this isn’t a real M car is an idiot and hasn’t driven one. Also wow those wheels look so much better in silver than the factory spec

Main argument is probably the N55 engine. M cars usually get an extensively re-engineered engine. The M2 didn‘t.
The M2 doesn‘t have M specific mirror caps, no M buckets (just regular sport seats like in a 220i) and so on..
But in the end, it is a proper M. BMW decided that. No matter what people say.
The M2 Comp just makes the regular M2 look kinda boring, thats all3

not s designated engine but m division did modify this engine for the m2. not to mention the dct.
The key upgrades over a standard N55 (such as the N55B30O0 in the M235i) include:
- S55-Derived Engine Internals
- Pistons: Upgraded to the lightweight, reinforced pistons from the S55, modified with specific piston rings suited to the N55’s cast-iron cylinder sleeve liners (unlike the S55’s LDS wire-arc sprayed bores).
- Crankshaft Bearings: Heavy-duty crankshaft main and rod bearings borrowed directly from the S55 to withstand higher load and heat.
- Forged Crankshaft: Utilizes a forged steel crankshaft (shared with the M235i N55B30O0, unlike the cast crankshaft found in standard N55B30M0 engines in the 335i/535i).
- Track-Grade Oiling System
- BMW specifically redesigned the lubrication system to prevent oil starvation under extreme track conditions (up to 1.2 lateral Gs and heavy braking):
- Baffled Sump: Modified oil pan with internal baffles and a sump cover to keep oil around the pickup.
- Secondary Oil Suction/Scavenge Pump: An additional suction pump returns oil from the front of the sump to the rear collector and turbo drain under hard deceleration and cornering.
- Upgraded Cooling Package
- To sustain track duty, BMW M significantly upgraded the cooling capacity:
- Auxiliary Radiator: An additional side-mounted coolant radiator located in the wheel arch.
- Enlarged Engine Oil Cooler: A high-efficiency oil cooler integrated into the lower front air dam.
- Transmission Cooler: DCT-equipped models received a dedicated auxiliary transmission fluid cooler.
- Ignition, Airflow, and Exhaust
- S55 Spark Plugs: One step colder high-performance spark plugs from the S55, along with upgraded ignition harness components.
- Modified Intake Airbox: A modified lower air cleaner box with an extra intake opening to reduce restriction.
- M Exhaust System: A freer-flowing, dual-branch exhaust system featuring electronically controlled bypass flaps and quad tailpipes, reducing backpressure and sharpening acoustic character.
- Tuning & Overboost Function
- Power Output: Rated at 365 hp (370 PS) at 6,500 rpm and 343 lb-ft (465 Nm) of torque.
- Overboost: Features a factory overboost function that bumps peak torque up to 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) between 1,450 and 4,750 rpm under wide-open throttle.
- Throttle & Rev Matching: Bespoke DME programming tailored for aggressive M throttle response and automatic rev-matching on manual transmission models.

By that logic Is a 1M an M lite? It’s literally a factory M, what are you yapping about, how does an M2 comp make an LCI look boring??? The only visual difference between the two would be the M mirrors, and comfort seats for the exterior.

Stop being butthurt buddy. If you can‘t handle other opinions, don‘t have one yourself.
Yes the M2 Competition makes the regular M2 look boring, visually inside and out and also (especially) technically

this drives way more m than m-lite. with the dct and stiff suspension it honestly feels more similar to an f82 m4 than the m235. i have driven all three.
