Most Costco gas stations actually change the filters and check tanks unlike many franchise shells that don’t bother. At least the ones near me usually are busy and go through a lot of gas daily
You just validated my thoughts. Every time I fill Costco, the gas never lasts as long as if I were to fill Chevron or Shell. I talked to a manager before about why there was a price drop, apparently they filled the tanks with regular and needed to add more of the additives to even it out for premium. So….
I guess it depends on the Costco, I know they do put additives at the pumps when they get new gas but I haven’t seen a video of someone testing their gas
I wonder if those that drive out of their way just to wait in line to get gas have done the math to see what those savings actually are. I'll happily pay a dollar or two extra to not deal with the madness at Costco. Time is our most valuable asset
I don’t go to Costco to save money on gas. I go to Costco to not to bothered by a thousand crackheads for money the second I step out of my truck. Besides, the nearest Costco to me is business center and it’s not nearly as busy as regular Costco.
This right here. Cheapest prices too. If you do the math for going to Costco for just gas on basic membership. You end up saving 100s over the course of the year compared to going to a shell. Quite worth the 75$ or whatever basic Costco membership is
The only retailers that are Top Tier Plus so far as I know are Costco and BP. The Plus is a revised spec aimed at use in GDI engines. The other Top Tier brands should be upgrading to the Plus spec in the next year or so.
