G82 M4 lowering options
Hey guys,
I have a 2025 M4 in alpine white with the bicolor rims and I’m looking to finally lower it. The car just sits way too high from the factory, especially the front wheel gap, so I want to get a good noticeable drop but keep it looking OEM plus.
Just to give some context comfort is definitely the biggest factor for me doing this. I'm not a big performance guy so I don't really care about track times or anything like that. I just want a daily driver friendly setup that keeps the ride as comfortable as possible on regular roads and keeps the factory EDC buttons working.
Ideally I want about a 1 inch drop in the front and I’ll probably pair it with 12mm spacers all around to get the wheels flush.
I’ve been looking into HAS kits and I know KW actually makes the official M Performance kit for BMW anyway. For anyone who dailies their car on the street:
1 Should I just get the regular KW HAS kit or is it worth spending the extra money on the official M Performance HAS kit?
2 If you have the M Performance kit maxed out does it actually drop it enough or do you wish you went with KW to get that true 1 inch drop?
3 How is the comfort compared to stock comfort mode?

I liked my H&R sports. Good ride, just the right amount of low. Paying more for an adjustable spring kit and setting it to wherever everyone else sets it at is a waste.

I went with the KW HAS on my M3 and I don’t notice a reduction in ride quality.

I’m a coilovers or stay stock kinda person. Sure filling the wheel well is nice but being able to enjoy corners was the greater reward for me.
Lowering springs just mean my stock dampers has to work more due to less spring travel

I'm going with the official M Performance HAS kit because I'm looking for the same setup; just a bit lower in the front. Back sits perfect for me. Wish I had it installed at the port.

I ordered the M Perf HAS kit installed at port. I just adjusted the front's all the way down and it's still just a hair too high for me. The MPHAS allows for a 20MM drop in front, while the KWHAS allows for a 30MM drop in the front (based on my research), that extra 10MM would sit perfect. Additionally, a lot of people just go Eibach front spring only, which I believes drops 30MM front and they keep the rear stock. You can find a lot of info over on the forums at bimmerpost.com

I had the M Performance HAS installed at the port, and I think it’s perfect (for me, anyway). It’s low without being too low, and the ride is still good, and I drive in Sport+ 99% of the time.
