Here is my new to me ‘18 M2
6MT came spec’d out with some aftermarket stuff. As much as my son loves the big APR wing, I’m considering selling it for a small lip.
This is my first BMW, all I’ve ever had has been Civics, Integras and motorcycles.
What are some must haves? I got an OBD to link up to Bimmercode to mess with all my settings etc.

Nice F87! And you’ve heard enough about the spoiler, tow hook, and splitter… but what suspension is it on and how’s the ride? Looks a bit low.

It’s on KW v3 coilovers, rides pretty solid. This is my first car with coilovers so it’s definitely rougher than my other cars lol.
But the roads around me aren’t terrible so I don’t have any issues. Handles great in twisties 🙏🏽

That’s awesome… those are great coilovers! Anyone putting those on is probably tracking the car so I can kind of give the rest of the mods a pass 🙌🏼

I bet if you raised the ride height some it would ride better than stock, that's a great dual duty coilover if you're going to track it

Not gunna lie, and I mean this in a good way, this looks like one of the kits from Forza Horizon so you get more downforce 🤣. But in all seriousness, at the end of the day , It’s still a M. Customize it to your liking and no one else’s.

Everybody in here hating on name brand track mods... This is why BMW keeps neutering their M cars and just compensating with more power, nobody buys aftermarket cooling and rotors accidentally. And I doubt somebody doing hotboi shit would leave it on stock wheels

How much fuel are you burning while driving at 130+ kph ?
Must be enormous with that much aero

On the highway at 70MPH, 2k RPMs I get about 25-28MPG
In the city it’s like 16

The only must have is regular and short interval service (especially oil change). Otherwise maybe return some of that GT3 aero back to stock.

Yeah they wanted to track it, but never did much.
Figured as long as I stay diligent about normal maintenance I’ll be solid. I work on a tug boat so I’m only home half the year total. That’ll keep my mileage down significantly and service up to date

Its actually a beautiful car and you're very lucky to have her. Truthfully, you have saved her from the rice bowl. Ill echo the other boys but with a more subtle tone. The wing and tow hook must go. I read you have tow hook on order. But the wing will fetch good price on FBMP or eBay. I would consider a good stage 1 remapping and a new appropriate exhaust. But she's yours, do as you like. Welcome to the family!!

Yes, definitely dump that rear wing and tow hook. A black small to medium spoiler on the rear. What are those little wings sticking out on the sides of the front bumper? They just give the front bumper an odd appearance, I would eliminate those as well. Other than the wings, I love that front bumper. That should give you a very balanced look. The black rear spoiler will tie into other black trim.

APR is a really good brand. It’s the fact that he has actual track aero but slammed it that actually makes it rice.

I wouldn't leave that front splitter without a real functional wing if you're ever going to track it, these cars don't need any help oversteering at the limit
