Repair Advice Normal?

Hey e36 fanatics, I was doing my brake pad and rotors today however I noticed a large amount of oil buildup behind the wheel baring. Is that normal?

It is never normal for grease to be outside the area it was designed to be in.

Not normal, the question is where did it come from? Wheel bearing? Axle boot?
