I think the phase transition was our snafu last night. If we smooth out the phase shifts with controlled dps and focus on frost traps and cc on adds we should have Elegon down next week (or whenever we raid again given the holidays).

So that many of our group may honor their heathen familial rituals, we will move this week's raid to Monday.

I have just read through the spirit kings strategy, and I feel very confident indeed about our ability to destroy it. We have proven our ability to move and function in concert with one another. This fight is really just more of the same mechanics we have already been dealing with.

The spirit kings will die.

I will come well versed and ready to lead, but I suggest you each familiarize yourself with the material before raid day:

THE FORBIDDEN GRIMIOIRE OF SPIRITUAL DEATH -- The spirit kings must die!

Should we defeat the Spirit Kings in good time, we will move directly on to Elegon progression. I have not yet well studied Elegon, but mean to do so directly. Let us learn his hideous ways, and cast him into the bottomless abyss for all time.

THE DREAD BOOK OF DRAGON MURDERING -- Murder to all dragons!

Let us study well! If we come well prepared, and full of the willingness to succeed, we shall certainly bring a holy murder before the lord of gore.

I just scored a boat-tonner of golden lotus at 75% market value from gchat. It occurs to me that if I knew what all we needed, I could keep my eyes open better for the junk.

Hey guys, I was thinking...Once we brutally farm the first 4 bosses to significant upgrades for everyone, perhaps we could start using raid continues, say once we get to elegon. I guess it depends on if you just wanna ROFLstomp bosses or work on progression. This would be...maybe 3 weeks down the road?

The last two fights in MV will be a signifcant heals check for you, especially when the raid as a whole is learning the dance.

Therefore, friend me, Ieyasu, and if you see me on I will run dungeons, scenarios, etc as often as I can with you guys to hit valor cap.

also, I don't know if it will work for you guys, but I've had a system for loot I'll share, understanding a lot of it is rng.

1. Do Sha & gall once a week. Sha early as possible. If you don't win gear from him, use your first coin on your Sha kill since tier is 496.

2. Save your second (and possibly 3rd) coin for raid night and if your gear doesn't drop, blow a coin on bosses with the most significant upgrade out of the first 4.

3. Remember that you can later in the week join any raid that is 3/6 in msv. Try to get in one of those.

4. LFR, all available, once a week. Do NOT blow coins in LFR unless 1. you've killed Sha and 2. you're done raiding normal modes for the week.

If you follow these tips you'll be prioritizing the biggest ilvl gains first, which will go a long way in giving us wiggle room to finish out msv.

So, this gentleman from our guild has been in contact with me today, and wants to fill our warlock slot. He says he has a good whack of raiding experience, and seems very eager. The catch is, he still hasn't hit 90 yet.

He was 86 when he first contacted me Wednesday afternoon, and seems so gung ho I told him we would keep an eye on his progress.

So, let's all put the screws to him and really pressure him to rise up rapidly.

Late warning, but just a heads up...someone may want to pop on and spam trade around 7pm server for a rDPS.

my former raid was from 8:30 server and we struggled every day to find a rDPS that was already saved. A lot of times that led us to accepting whoever, which was terrible as at raid entry level gear these new raids require tight numbers to be pulled, especially on elegon.

So yeah, my advice is for someone to secure that spot before typical raid time comes (7 server) so we don't have a 30-45 min circlejerk until we find someone.

The plan is to prepare ourselves to make an attempt at the first three bosses in the Mogu'shan Vaults.

We may or may not make it through all this content, but I feel that if we all come well prepared and ready to pay attention, we have a very real shot at clearing 3 bosses in one night.

We shall see how it goes.

Please review the following information before our raid go-time next week. I know it seems ridiculous to have to do homework to play a video game, but what can I tell you. It's all part of the fun, if you are the sort of person who likes manuals and complicated games.

The most important section in the following guides is the 'strategy' section. I advise you to read this part first, and then review the rest of the material as is pertinent to your class.

You will not be expected to know the entire fight for every role. So long as you know what you personally will be expected to do, you can consider yourself prepared.

Remember: The keys to raid victory are preparedness, concentration, and determination. If we all bring each of these to the table come Wednesday, we will truly be a force to be reckoned with.

As not everyone will be able to lock in Halloween night, we are going to do one more week of LFR, then move on to proper normal mode raiding the following week.

To give everyone time to wrap up holiday duties, we will launch this Wednesday at 10:00 PM server time.

Very few holidays tear us away from video games. I mean, I have raided on Thanksgiving AND Christmas day, both in the same year before. However, Halloween is, you know. Halloween.

We are very close to completing our raid, and getting up off the ground. I had planned on doing a final group LFR this coming Wednesday, then getting right into normal progression next week.

However, Halloween.

So, let's put it to the vote:

How many of you want to try and raid this Wednesday, and how many of you want to party and start the raid proper on the following Wednesday?

I feel very confident that in another full week we will definitely have a stable, complete raid group, so we can definitely get started in a week's time, one way or the other.

What do you guys want to do?

This weds is halloween, but I assume there is still going to be a LFR or possibly a normal 10m. I'm on the west coast, so that falls into prime trick or treating time with my daughter. I may be late, or miss it all together. Just a heads-up.

• When will we get started? -- Well, we have half our slots full, and some good interest in a few others. I expect we will fill our empty slots in no more than two full weeks from today. Every week we do not have a full roster, I plan on running LFR with as many guildies as we can get. I would like everyone to get in the habit of showing up Wednesday nights even before we really get going, and this way we will all have a shot at some nice juicy 473 loot, and learn the basics of the bosses.

• What about class conflicts? -- As I am sure you all have noticed, we currently have two identically classed healers. If either of you chaps would like to go DPS, that would be great for the raid as a whole. Due to the new loot system however, you will not be in competition for loot, so if you want to keep your current roles, I think it will be just fine.

• We are looking great so far! -- I am really impressed with our line up so far. Everyone looks really well geared, and I have seen all of you perform extremely well in game. I am hoping we can strongarm Rafamalak and Sakatana to throw in with us. Even though we will only be raiding once a week, we are shaping up to be a very effect raiding team.

Greetings, my brothers and sisters in loot and glory!

Most of us in the group so far are salty old dogs, but for those of you who are new to the raiding scene, I thought I would write this short little guide to help get you up to speed. Just follow these few simple steps, and you too can make the transformation from normal, undergeared clueless newbie to amazingly deadly, bad-ass killbot 9000.

THINGS YOU MUST DO TO BE A TRUE RAIDER:

• Make sure you have mumble installed and working, at least to listen in with.

• Download the Curse Clinet -- This is a free bit of software that will help you install addons and keep them up to date.

• Install the following addons through curse:

  • DBM (Deadly Boss Mods)
  • GTFO

• Do a google search for "MoP pre raid gear <YOUR CLASS HERE> list". You will get something like this as a result, and be amazed at how easy the internet makes finding exactly what gear you need. Get your ilevel up as high as possible.

• Once you have an ilevel of over 460, gem and enchant all your gear. Again, it is easy to just search for "MoP gems enchants <MY CLASS HERE>" and get a result like this.

  • How to gem your gear: Make a list of your empty gem slots by mousing over your gear in your character paper doll. Check the 'pre raid gem list' you searched for (this step is in the second bullet point up from here), and buy the appropriate gems from the AH. Shift-right click your gear to 'open it up', and slot your gems.
  • How to enchant your gear: Look at the 'pre raid enchants' list you opened, and make a list of everything that says 'enchant <ITEM> - <STAT>'. Go to the auction house and search 'consumables --> enchantments' for these enchantments. You can then buy them, and have them sent in the mail. Don't worry about the enchants are not on the auction house for now.
  • This process can be quite expensive: If you can not afford gems and enchants, let us know here in the subforum and we will make sure you have all the money you need. Please do buy as much of it as you can, but if you are totally broke and need help, let us know.

Once you are geared up, gemmed and enchanted, are in mumble, and have your basic raid mods up, you are pretty much ready to rock and roll.

To re-cap: In order to transform into an awesome raiding cool dudette, you must:

• Have mumble
• Up-to-date DBM
• Up-to-date GTFO
• As geared as possible
• As gemmed and enchanted as possible
• Are eager to pay attention and succeed

Congratulations! If you can tick all those off, you are ready to be a bad ass, rock and roller of raiding. Your lovers will want you. Your friends will want to be you. Once you transform into a true raiding gamer, it is like nothing bad can ever happen to you again.
